Subject: Rove Republicans on the run?

Dear Friend,

They tried to put a brave public face on. But, as they gathered in Pittsburgh this past weekend, GOP leaders and campaign strategists couldn't hide the fact that they've got their political backs to the wall.

Yes, there was lots of energy at the meeting, but it was the nervous energy of panicked politicians and operatives who know their luck is running out.

Last week, Democrat Paul Hackett, a political newcomer and Iraqi combat veteran, came within 4,600 votes of winning an Ohio special election in a heavily Republican district. Republican operatives laughed about how easily they could defend this district until Ohio voters shocked them and sent a clear signal of what 2006 holds. Rick Santorum -- the poster boy for the most extreme elements of the Bush agenda -- was a featured speaker at the GOP meeting. Senator Santorum is trailing Bob Casey, his Democratic opponent, and may be the most vulnerable Republican in the country. And, Karl Rove, whom George W. Bush calls the "architect" of his political success, wasn't anywhere to be seen at the meeting. Rove likes to show up at Republican gatherings with his divisive rhetoric and schoolboy taunts aimed at the President's opponents. But now, his involvement in exposing the identity of a CIA agent for political revenge has put Rove's bare-knuckles political tactics under intense scrutiny. The Republican National Committee used its national strategy meeting in Pittsburgh to kick off its drive to survive the most critical elections of 2005 and 2006. We at the grassroots need to use the GOP meeting to raise the funds Democratic candidates need to take it to the Republicans in races all across America.

Make a Contribution

With the money they'll raise and the tactics they'll use, GOP candidates won't be easy to beat despite their dismal record on the problems that concern America's families. But, that's okay. We don't care about easy or hard. We just plan to do what it takes to win.

So, take a moment right now to send Rove Republicans like Rick Santorum a powerful message. Help Keeping America's Promise make it clear that Democrats are ready, willing and able to compete in every critical race across America.

Make a Contribution

Let's show that the cynical politics of the Rove Republicans will be no match for the commitment and energy of our grassroots movement. Let's go to work

Thank you,

John Kerry

This fund raising e-mail arrived today. Plenty of B.S., but it shows, in part, why the democrats are doing some things that seem irrational to otherwise normal people: they do things that will help them with fund raising among their most rabid donors . . .

This should be in the "Making Stuff Up" category. It is, afterall, the category Dems do best in.

Is that the new catch phrase? Rove Republicans? Like that's a bad thing?

This just cracks me up whenever I hear it! One vote, or 4600, Hackett still lost. Guess you don't get money from your supporters if you say "Darn, we lost again in Ohio!"

And might I add to my previous post, several people who saw Hackett's campaign ads said that he didn't state that he was a democrat.

Remember Soros money in 2004? It didn't buy them a darn thing. They still lost!
I don't mind them spending money on their own defeat, though. I'm all for it.

"Second is like kissing your sister."

Have you looked at his wife lately?

Comparing her with my sister . . . hmm.... that would be a tough choice! (NOT!)

If John Kerry insists on continuing to make a fool of himself, who are we to try to stop him?

Dear Friend,

They tried to put a brave public face on. But, as they gathered in Pittsburgh this past weekend, GOP leaders [Who are in the majority in the House, Senate and State Governorships and control the White House] and campaign strategists ]Who are outstripping us two to one in donations] couldn't hide the fact that they've got their political backs to the wall [Laughing their *sses off]. Yes, there was lots of energy at the meeting, but it was the nervous energy of panicked politicians and operatives who know their luck is running out [If you want to call a strong economy, a stronger international prescence and a return to moral values "Luck"].

Last week, Democrat Paul Hackett, a political newcomer and Iraqi combat veteran, came within 4,600 votes of winning an Ohio special election in a heavily Republican district [With luck, a lot of your money and enough spin we might even Almost Win something else next time]. Republican operatives laughed about how easily they could defend this district until Ohio voters shocked them and sent a clear signal of what 2006 holds [We'll come up short again].

Rick Santorum -- the poster boy for the most extreme elements of the Bush agenda -- was a featured speaker at the GOP meeting. Senator Santorum is trailing Bob Casey, his Democratic opponent, and may be the most vulnerable Republican in the country [In our dreams].

And, Karl Rove, whom George W. Bush calls the "architect" of his political success, wasn't anywhere to be seen at the meeting. Rove likes to show up at Republican gatherings with his divisive rhetoric and schoolboy taunts aimed at the President's opponents [We are so pathetic he doesn't bother to taunt us anymore].

But now, his involvement in exposing the identity of a CIA agent for political revenge has put Rove's bare-knuckles political tactics under intense scrutiny [Really. Intense. Scrutiny. Please say you remember the Plame story. Judy's getting crabby and impatient, and we haven't even paraded her around in orange jumpsuit and ankle cuffs yet].

The Republican National Committee used its national strategy meeting in Pittsburgh to kick off its drive to survive the most critical elections of 2005 and 2006. We at the grassroots need to use the GOP meeting to raise the funds Democratic candidates need to take it to the Republicans in races all across America [We have to wait for the Pubbies to give us something to oppose, because we have no ideas of our own].

Make a Contribution [Soros might wise up and cut us off, we suck so bad]

With the money they'll raise and the tactics they'll use, GOP candidates won't be easy to beat despite their dismal record on the problems that concern America's families [Don't look at the progress we made on the WOT or the economy, we're really in trouble. REALLY!]. But, that's okay. We don't care about easy or hard. We just plan to do what it takes to win [Your MONEY].

So, take a moment right now to send Rove Republicans like Rick Santorum a powerful message. Help Keeping America's Promise make it clear that Democrats are ready, willing and able to compete in every critical race across America [Remember Eddie the Eagle?].

Make a Contribution [We need to buy smokes for every bum in America]

Let's show that the cynical politics of the Rove Republicans will be no match for the commitment and energy of our [Six Feet Under The] grassroots movement. Let's go to work [Now don't take that the wrong way. We're really not saying anyone HAS TO go to work. Chill out if that's your bag]

Thank you,

John Kerry

Ol' Johnny Botox is still trying to convince himself that his loss was simply (as the Euro-Lefties like to call it) "deferred success".
