They were just guys doing their jobs, so I hope they're gonna make it. Plus maybe this will give us info on some things the Ruskies are up to that we didn't know before!

It's awesome how quickly the UK/US was able to get the equipment and crews needed in place so quickly. Ask, and ye shall receive.

...Tammy Bruce just said on KABC radio in Los Angeles that the sub got hung up on a 600 foot cable or line with a 'listening device! on the end! ...I just read on some news site (Yahoo, perhaps) that it was an underwater antenna of some sort. Used for coastal defense. Anchored off the coast. Fascinating.

Russia was a Christian nation 600 years before the Pilgrims landed in the New World.

I don't want the guys to die, and on balance am glad they are free, but I can't say that I really care.Lest they someday are in a position to save your life if they survive. (If you have one)

We would and we have. We even borrowed some of their aircraft to fight forest fires a few years ago.

Internal pressure should closely approximate surface pressure, bends shouldn't be an issue.

Let me ask you something, and I mean this in all seriousness. Is there something wrong with me that I don't really care too much what happens to Russian military ventures? I mean, I don't want the guys to die, and on balance am glad they are free, but I can't say that I really care. Oh, for pete's sake! Can't you have ONE MOMENT of pure human happiness??? Put on your tinfoil hat and sit in the corner.
This shows the ineptitude of the Russian military, which I find somewhat comforting.
But geez!!! Seven men aren't going to suffocate and the Brits and Americans look like heroes!!!
You must be a joy to be around.

Hubby says it can surface as inside a sub it is atmospheric pressure , he doesn't think it is like a diver.
does anyone know this about subs?

would we (the U.S.) EVEN ASK anybody else to help. No double standard, just who would you suggest could do it better than our own guys?
You want the Russians to go down and cut big holes it it so chains could be strung through to lift it?
Oh , --- It was the Swedes that did that. The Russians watched.

But how did the British equipment get there in time?
To: Chevy Sales
serious speculations and misstatements from Russia el al SO FARThis has been the situation right from the get go.
Anyone know where the Brits base their Scopio underwater craft?

No we did not! The forest service tried to hire their super large airplane, and it was nixed by congress. I will find the cite on it in a few.

There have been deep diving units that equalized so scientists could enter and leave at extreme depth.

I wouldn't even think of it like that asp, I was a fast attack sailor during the cold war (STS1 SS/DV) and I'm pulling for this crew. Most of us who wear Dolphins, it doesn't matter which Navy you wear them for, your one of the guy and we try to take care of our own!

From what I heard, they were so deep they have to come up reeeeeaaaaallll slow. Or there heads will resemble something like a champagne bottle when you open it.I thought the type of sub they were in, a bathyscape, is pressurized enough to bring them up without that worry.
