I'm considering getting transfered from my job and moving to San Deigo or Los Angeles (where my company has offices.)
Any Freepers want to give a Jersey girl some advice?
I've never been to Ca. but I've had it with Jersey. I know there are at least five Conservatives in Califorina (thats three more than NJ)- help me out people!
"I know there are at least five Conservatives in Califorina..."
6 including me, but I am under deep cover.
No probrem. :=)

If you want to be in development, then head to north county SD or south county OC.
How much of a culture shock can it be?
If you move to LA, none at all since everyone else there is from NY/NJ. If you move to OC/SD, might be a little since that's where everyone heads after doing their requisite penance in LA and adapting to SoCal (see my list above).
Half my family lives in California. Been there many, many times.
I would NEVER move there. The cost of living is sky high, and it is a socialists paradise.
Oh, and by the way, how do you feel about illegal immigrants???????
:0)
Anyone who is thinking of moving to Texas..please move to Austin! We need more conservatives here. Please! Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread or anything.
I am a native Californian (Los Angeles) and I would vote for San Diego. Also, San Diego is less likely to fall into the ocean.
Rent (unfortunately)....I'm poor.
Hopefully I'll meet a handsome military man and breed many mini-conservatives.... :-)
*sigh*
Waking up....
I'm in San Diego County, and it's wonderful. I went to Hawaii once, and could not understand why one would want to go to Hawaii when you live in Paradise.
There's lots of reasons NOT to move here, and just as many TO move here. You should visit first and see for yourself.
Personally, I would never live in LA, altho there are many nice pockets.
My one word of advice is, do your dead-level best to live close to your workplace. The commute is a b**ch.
Yeah, what he said. None of the crumbling, blighted infrastructure you see in the east. It's like visiting a gigantic, futuristic theme park.
Frankly, if I lived on the East Coast and visited Orange and San Diego counties, I'd be embarrassed to go home. ;)
Hey, 1 out of 7 ain't bad. You know the historical avg 14" rainfall is really 6 years at 6" and 1 at 35", right? I'm counting on a great Santa Ana fall this year, with all the islands out each day and a nice west swell running at Blacks.
< How much of a culture shock can it be? >
That one just clearly made me LOL.
I've never lived either place and I know it's a world of difference.
Very funny
Don't let the naysayers get to you....yes. The signs are in English.
In a word ..... DON'T
I've been here 10 years now; which is 9 years 9 months too many!
"Get a cement pond and avoid bankers named Drysdale."
And get lots of critters.
Also don't date anyone named Sonny.
And if someone trys to sell you the Hollywood Bowl, they might not be for real.
A homage to the best TV show ever made!
Stop slamming Fresno. There are enough people who do that already. At least it's a "Red" area in a sea of blue. (And I don't mean Communist.)
Sold. Come pick me up in Red Bank.
