Has anyone seen any polls?
Don't worry aboout governor. Taft has hopeless ly screwed this up and we will have a demorat governor next time. Makes me want to puke. And what about crybaby Voinivich!
they did run a bunch of guys and they lost in the primary
Don't know about the Dewine's senate seat(depends on the rat opponent), but if Ken Blackwell is the Gov. candidate, he will run a very strong, smart, and conservative camapign.
From the Herseth race, I remember that she was supposed to win by 10 points or more but only squeaked by in the final totals. That's how I knew we were safe in the November election. Simply winning didn't mean anything because she was always the favorite.
That's the first thing I said when I read that he'd said earlier that he was within the margin of error. (within the margin of the extra stashed ballots!)
Update [2005-8-2 21:20:29 by Dales]: Brown county is 100% reported-- Hackett carried it. By comparison, Bush carried it by 28 points over Kerry in 2004.
Update [2005-8-2 21:17:24 by Dales]: 41% of precincts reporting.
Update [2005-8-2 20:56:4 by Dales]: Half of Pike, most of Scioto, half of Brown, and bits of Warren, Adams, and Hamilton check in. (Pike and Scioto should be Hackett's strongest counties).
Update [2005-8-2 20:44:31 by Dales]: Brown starts checking in.
Update [2005-8-2 20:33:26 by Dales]: 2 Hamilton precincts in.
Update [2005-8-2 20:21:58 by Dales]: Just added absentee votes in from Clermont. Still not enough to get a precinct count.
Update [2005-8-2 20:2:39 by Dales]: The first set of results are apparently Hamilton County absentee votes.
The first returns are in at 7:52. It is unclear what county they are from (it is just 3,593 votes).
They had a primary election and she won.
Maybe, but she won't vote to make Pelosi Speaker of the House...
Because there was an 11 candidate primary with 4 serious contenders....Schmidtt, Brinkman, McEwen, and DeWine and she won as she got her voters out.
Schmidt is now up, per Redstate.org
Ken Blackwell will be our next Governor. COUNT on it.
Blackwell is too far in with Taft. However I for one welcome you as my Galactic Overloard.
But lets not forget that Herseth was reelected in the 2004 elections
She's my representative. She is my voice.
There needs to be a little more substance to her than not being a dem and being a rubberstamp. She has shown none.
I live next door in Hamilton county.... Hackett is a rubber stamp for Dems..... I heard the same old stories from him. I'd rather have a Schmidt rubber stamp.
Although I hope this is a wake up call for Repubs.... get some gonads or get out....
In 2004 The Cincy Enquirer (the big paper) called Blackwell the anti-Taft.
And you will puke, too, if it's anything like what happened over here in Illinois. The RINO's screwed things up so badly that we wound up with Gov. Blows##t.
How many races have you followed?
I've heard that dire line said before, only to be disproven.
I concede Ohio is troublesome because of Taft, Voinovich and DeWine and entirety of the Republican Party throughout that state. I was confidant of Florida in '04 while most fretted. Ohio I felt would turn our way at the end, but not as much as it should have because of Taft. I, and many others, are not unaware of how the GOP in Ohio has royally screwed up and this is why we want Blackwell as Gov and someone to challenge deWine.
But you are overreacting to this races' prophecy for the future of the GOP. For one, most Rep states do not have the three stooges representing them. For another, we've lost plenty of congressional races after or before an election and than win the normal races. People are worn out after '04. Our energy isn't as high as the Dems that are desperate for a win however small. The Dems had carville down there, we barely gave the race notice until a couple days before. They had a heated primary that split Republican voters, that has a tendency to affect support.
I DO think the GOP needs to clean house before '08 or we could lose Ohio, but it's still in our corner for the moment. Though I won't be surprised if DeWine loses next year since the base now despises him.
