No matter how you spin it, Karl Rove is a snake.
He opened his mouth when he should have kept it shut. A lot of people do that. Rove, however, did it for revenge.
Bush supporters can split more hairs than Bill Clinton. One essential fact remains indisputable. Rove's forked tongue lashed out at a political critic.
And he did it secretly.
He also dodged responsibility for it as long as he could.
What a snake!
A full and thorough investigation will determine if he's a common garter snake or a deadly cottonmouth, but his own confessions have him slithering on the ground.
Back in 2002, a number of people in the CIA questioned administration claims that Saddam Hussein tried to acquire uranium from Niger.
Agent Valerie Plame suggested her husband, former Ambassador Joe Wilson, go to Africa and investigate. He had experience in Middle Eastern and African diplomacy.
When Wilson returned, he reported the administration was full of hot air. That didn't stop Bush from repeating the claim in his 2003 State of the Union address.
In turn, Wilson wrote a piece for the New York Times. It appeared July 3, 2004. A week later, syndicated columnist and really mean man Robert Novak outed Plame as a CIA agent. Who told Novak about Plame?
Not Rove. He claims he got his information from Novak, not the other way around.
However, it was too juicy a piece of gossip to keep to himself. Before Novak's column came out, Rove talked with Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper.
Without naming names, Rove told Cooper that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA and was responsible for the trip to Africa.
Rove is the White House deputy chief of staff. He knows better. By his own admission, he said too much.
He deserves the hot water he finds himself in. With any luck, he'll soon have company in the person who leaked the information to Novak.
Chief among the suspects is Lewis Libby, chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney.
Cooper, Novak and the New York Times' Judith Miller (doing time for refusing to reveal her source) are by no means pure in their roles in this slimy game of Gotcha.
Miller, at least, accepts the consequences of her action. She evaded nothing. She willingly went to jail because she recognized the higher principles involved.
Can the same be said of Rove? -- T.H.
Rove "split more hairs than Bill Clinton"?
That's disgusting!
This whole essay can be summed up with the cliche "why let facts get in the way of a belief"
The liberal bottom-feeders just cannot realize and accept the fact that they are irrelevant, and they have lost two major elections. And they continue to behave like selfish children, with particular emphasis on the MSM which just continues to lie, with impunity.
It is a good thing for the left that the right has some morals, some sense of propriety, some sense of decency because if they didn't the MSM might be involved in more losing and costly libel law suits that would put them out of business....
Sounds like the liberalism of Washington has spilled over into the good state of Idaho...
A poor liberal soul without a brain!!!
Amazing how you can tell a lot about a columnist from a simple sentence. For example, from just that one little gem I have deduced that Tom Henderson is a partisan hack and a baldfaced liar.
Is this a "Letter to the Editor" or is there actually a columnist that writes this ignorantly?
This is a (communist....LOL) columnist that writes for the Lewiston Morning Tribune. He is the assistant editor.
That's not true. When Wilson returned, he reported that Iraq had indeed tried to buy uranium from Niger. Even though Wilson found a willing conduit in the NY Times when he changed his story, the US Senate determined that Wilson's original story was true and when he reported that the "administration was full of hot air", Wilson was lying.
But did he have to pull them from his teeth like Bill?
That statement is a lie so I stopped there.
See you on another thread!
Found this online one time, true transcripts of lawyers questioning witnesses:
Q: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
A: No.
Q: Did you check for blood pressure?
A: No.
Q: Did you check for breathing?
A: No.
Q: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
A: No.
Q: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
A: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
Q: But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?
A: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.
Bobo: He could have also been a liberal news commentator, methinks.
How about that douche bag Bill Hall,is he still writing for
the Lewiston a** wipe?
Here in Lakeland, FL, we vote conservative but have for a newspaper a liberal rag owned & run by the NYT.
There are letters to the editor daily and several columns a week that are just like this. There is so much hate oozing through the words, I believe that if Bush said 12 pm was noon, they would demand proof.
Which is funny, because BC could claim the sky was green and would not get called on it.
People see and hear what they want to see and hear.
Dental floss
What happens to non-reporters if they refuse to answer the call of the court?
Bill Hall still writes an occasional column now and then but he is no longer the Editor. Jim Fisher has taken his place. I think he is worse that Hall (if you can imagine that)
Tom Henderson is a putz.
Is that really true, that it was really said in court? If so, it would be even more delicious.
