Well, that makes at least three of us.
God was very specific in giving law that required the execution of murderers. God never gave such a law ordaining abortion. These are completely separate issues. The execution of murderers is the fulfillment of the law God gave. God didn't stutter when giving the law. The law didn't leave any gray area for murder. God did allow exceptions for accidental killings, manslaughter for instance, and self-defense.
There are many Christian based churches that have taken a stance against the execution of murderers, yet Jesus Christ, even when nailed to the cross never asked that the criminals on either side of Him be released from their sentences. He did show that the criminal can be forgiven, but must still face the sentence proscribed by law.
That's one of the reasons that I would like to see abortion out of the public forum once and for all.
Do we really have to line up on one issue?
Four
It seems consistant to me. I was pro dp in my formative years. One day I heard someone talking with such vengence in their voice about the dp and I realized then and there it didn't fit with my religious and moral values.
In other news today:
Adolph Hitler today proclaimed, "We need more Jews in the party! C'mon, we aren't so bad. All that stuff I said about killing you all....just a joke!"
How could a voter with your VOTE and principles and VOTE and convictions and VOTE and sincerity and VOTE and concern and VOTE not be desirable?
These people are schizophrenic!!
He's right: Emily's List should accept pro-lifers money, too.
Exactly, forgive and use government power only when you need to protect the public. This is what Romans 13 describes.
But you only mentioned part of Romans 13. The core point of Romans 13 is that "love is the fulfilling of the law." I don't see how revenge and hate trumps love in Romans 13.
I other words, he's saying that they need to abandon the "right to choose" crowd.
No that would NOT clear up the argument. But it does tell me how confused you are about the issues. The death penalty is not revenge (though it may be construed that way in some peoples minds).
He has no problem lying, he is the perfect democrat.
The bible does not cite the death penalty? Either you are joking or a biblically illiterate imbecile. Go read Numbers chapter 36, just for starters.,
I agree. I can see how some people would seek the death penalty for the purpose of revenge, but God specifically ordered the death penalty for certain crimes, and the law must be obeyed. This is why we try to have impartial juries hear these cases rather then allow bereaved family and friends decide the case. We do this to eliminate the revenge factor.
I do not wish for this debate to continue. But I will say you do not have the Scriptures on your side. The Word of God supports the idea of law by the governments. It does not support anarchy. The government/juries have the power to inflict the death penalty for capital crimes. This is to serve as a deterrent to other would-be murderers to re-consider. Also people on death row can consider their crimes and their relationship with the Almighty. When faced with death - some (but not all) repent and are saved. That is a good thing. But they should still pay the full due of their actions.
I suspect burzum is a troll. Noone can be that far off base if they actually read The Bible.
At least three others here agree with him, are we all trolls, too? Or we have to be lockstep to be here?
