IF I RECALL CORRECTLY, 2 different men were detained and 1 was released.
IT IS UNKOWN IF IT WAS RELATED TO YESTERDAY'S BOMBING ATTEMPT.

I have seen that on almost every Brit crime show. I reckoned that it was the world headquarters of the Acme Sex Aids Company, Ltd.

A man spoke of the terrifying moment when he came face to to face with one of the suspected suicide bombers at Shepherd's Bush.
Business analyst Abisha Moyo said he heard a bang like a "pistol going off" and saw a fellow Tube passenger lying on the floor of their carriage.
He approached him and asked "are you all right, mate" but was then stunned to see the man was lying on top of a rucksack with smoke coming out.
The suspect then calmly left the rucksack behind, jumped on the tracks and walked away down the line, said Mr Moyo.

This sounds like profiling, and profiling is wrong. These "armed police" as they have to continually point out because police in England "don't habitually carry guns" would have been better employed searching an old white woman's bags than chasing a Muslim and killing him. /sarc

Thanx, cooper72, for AGAIN attempting to point out the population makeup of the UK, ie. "2.6% of Britain are muslim - 2.3% of the USA is muslim". People here on this site keep going on about MASS IMMIGRATION/MASS DEPORTATION. Is it just on FreeRepublic where people have a problem with basic arithmetic, or is it more widespread? Jeez...
If people on this site have never been to the UK, or know little about the country, That's fine. Perfectly understandable then. But they should at least make an ATTEMPT to stick with the facts. ("2.6% of Britain are muslim" = MASS? What part of MASS is so hard to grasp?)

Police Shoot Man at London Subway Station
The latest from London, a very strange report from AP, with thanks to CGiddensJr:
LONDON - Police in London shot a man wearing a thick coat at a subway station and cordoned off a mosque on Friday, a day after the city was hit by a second wave of terror attacks in two weeks.
Police had no immediate details on the situation at the mosque in east London. But a Muslim leader said it was evacuated following a bomb threat.
The circumstances of the shooting at Stockwell station were not immediately clear, nor was the man's condition. One witness said he was dead.
British Transport Police said the Northern and Victoria Tube lines, which pass through Stockwell, were suspended because of shooting.
Passengers said they saw police pursuing a man who appeared to be of Pakistani or Indian descent. Some said police shot him when he tripped.
But one witness told the British Broadcasting Corp. that police "pushed him onto the floor and unloaded five shots into him."
"He looked like a cornered fox. He looked pertrified," Mark Whitby said, adding that the man appeared to be dead.
Whitby said the man did not appear to be carrying anything but was wearing a thick coat that looked padded.
Another witness said there were at least 20 police officers involved in the chase.

-lots of sirens and the helicopter up around King's Cross/Euston;
-armed police all over Whitehall, reports of arrests/suspect backpacks.
