This latest claim Valerie PLAME'S identity was revealed then leaked in a memo is TWISTED BEYOND BELIEF.

The memo referred to her as VALERIE WILSON

This latest theory that the super secret identity of VALERIE PLAME was LEARNED from a memo then leaked from that memo is BOGUS.

The Washington Post reported Thursday the identity of Valerie Plame -- identified by her married name of Valerie Wilson --

According to Plames boss (now retired), Plame blew her own cover when she started dating Wilson. He no longer considered her covert from that point on, and she was put at a desk.

I heard that the CIA considered her cover blown by Aldrich Ames back in the early to mid 90's. They didn't know, so they played it safe and called her back to CONUS and put her on a desk.

Cleaning house at CIA Friday, November 19, 2004 <

WASHINGTON (Creators Syndicate) -- After President Bush nominated him to be Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), Rep. Porter Goss walked across the Capitol to meet with a senator he hardly knew and who had criticized him: John McCain. There he received advice confirming his determination to take a course that soon became the talk of Washington. McCain told Goss the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is "a dysfunctional organization. It has to be cleaned out." That is, the CIA does not perform its missions. McCain told Goss that as DCI, he must get rid of the old boys and bring in a new team at Langley. Moreover, McCain told me this week, "with CIA leaks intended to harm the re-election campaign of the president of the United States, it is not only dysfunctional but a rogue organization." Following a mandate from the president for what McCain advised, Goss is cleaning house. The reaction from the old boys confirms those harsh adjectives of "dysfunctional" and "rogue." The nation's capital has become an echo chamber of anti-Goss invective with CIA officials painting a picture for selected reporters of a lightweight House member from Florida, a mere case officer at the CIA long ago, provoking high-level resignations and dismantling a great intelligence service. Veteran CIA-watchers such as McCain regard the Agency as anything but great and commend Goss for taking courageous steps that previous DCIs avoided. George Friedman, head of the Stratfor private intelligence service, refers to Goss's housecleaning as "long overdue." That cleansing process has been inhibited by the CIA's fear factor as an extraordinary leak machine. Its efficiency was attested to when Goss appointed Michael V. Kostiw, recently staff director of the House Intelligence Subcommittee on Terrorism, as the CIA's executive director. Before Kostiw could check in at Langley, the old boys leaked information that Kostiw was caught shoplifting in 1981 after 10 years as a CIA case officer. Kostiw then resigned the Agency's third-ranking post, though Goss retained him as a special assistant. Kostiw's treatment has enraged people who have known him during a long, successful career in Washington -- including John McCain. The senator called Kostiw "one of the finest, most decent men I have ever met." The story fed by Goss's enemies in the Agency is that dedicated career intelligence officers have been replaced by Capitol Hill hacks. Their real fear is that Goss will put an end to the CIA running its own national security policy, which in the last campaign resulted in an overt attempt to defeat Bush for re-election (intensifying after George Tenet left as DCI ). I reported on September 27 that Paul R. Pillar, the CIA's national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia, told a private dinner on the West Coast of secret, unheeded warnings to Bush about going to war. I learned of this because of leaks from people who attended, but many other senior Agency officials were covertly but effectively campaigning for Sen. John Kerry. That effort seemed to include "Imperial Hubris," an anonymously published attack on Iraq War policy by CIA analyst Michael Scheuer. He has since left the Agency, but he was still on the payroll when the CIA allowed the book to be published. The Washington Post on Election Day quoted Scheuer as saying CIA officials muzzled him in July only after they realized that he was really criticizing them, not the president. "As long as the book was being used to bash the president," he said, "they gave me carte blanche to talk to the media." Traditional bipartisanship in intelligence has been the victim, with Democrats cheering the CIA Bush-bashing. Rep. Jane Harman, ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, abandoned pretense of bipartisanship, and Sen. Jay Rockefeller, the Senate committee's vice chairman, never pretended. Both are attacking their former colleague who is now DCI. McCain's use of the word "rogue" carries historical implications. A long, debilitating time of troubles began for the CIA in 1975 after Sen. Frank Church called it "a rogue elephant" that is out of control causing trouble around the world. The current use of the word refers to the intelligence agency playing domestic politics, which is an even more disturbing aberration. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/17/novak.cia/

For someone who purports to know something about this story, you must not be following what Novak has said. After getting the info from his two 'senior administration' sources, HE contacted the CIA for comment and/or confirmation. The person who made the inital comments referenced in your quote was a press officer, not a confidential source.

I'll leave you to figure out the inherent contradiction in your scenario - but since it came from someone in the 'MSM,' why do you find it credible?

The "s" was either to catch a CIA source or the CIA source to cover their own butt and put the possibility of blame elsewhere. They tried to close the barn door but the horse was long gone.

"Miller knew that Wilson had just committed a crime by releasing to her classified information"

Very basic question - what was the 'classified information' that Wilson released to Miller?

You do know that the reporting on the memo and the SSIC report say the memo came from INR, not CIA - you know that, right?

[ I think Rove is a distraction to keep the press busy. The leaks are just to keep the story going. Fitzgerald could never do his job with the press getting in the way, especially when they're so deeply involved in everything from leaked WMD info to the Niger scam. ]

And the FCC sleeps.. as they have done on ALL serious sedition and outright agitprop of the MsM and MsP.. With a 300 million dollar BUDGET(2005)... What is it they DO, exactely with that money.?... put butts at desks.?...

The head of the FCC (Colin Powells son) is mysteriously absent on ALL subjects pertaining to FCC responsiblitys.. as is the FCC... He must be a RINO as his father before him.. And the head of FCC is a feather bedding post.. obviously..

The FCC ALLOWED cBS to investigate THEMSELVES...
Whats THAT all about.. its certainly not BUDGETARY..

How do you know Novak didn't know it before he called Rove? Because he said so? The point of his statement was to indicate he has sources inside the CIA that already knew "Wilson's Wife". The facts are what is known not who said what first.

Could it be because Michael Powell is no longer the FCC Chairman? He left in March, 2005.

"what was the 'classified information' that Wilson released to Miller?"

Anything he did or didn't find in Niger would be classified being that he was working as an extension of the CIA regardless whether his wife was covert or not or recommended him or not. Even taking Wilson's own words, Cheney sent him so he would have at least thought the information was classified before he spoke to even Corn or Kristof.

As for who wrote the memo, no I didn't know or even care who wrote it because it's nothing more than a gotcha document with a little "s" beside a paragraph. Being that the INR wrote it, who determined to put the "s" on that paragraph, someone in the CIA? It still doesn't answer who in the CIA is or was talking to reporters as admitted by Novak?

The FCC Could Be a threat to the MsM's political propaganda as the PR outlet of the democrat party.. CAN'T HAVE THAT...

Must be someone versed in damage control.. in case the sheeple... get a sniff of what the FCC is NOT DOING.. and again where exactly is that 300 million in cold hard cash going.?. The FCC does veritably NOTHING useful..

Actually the entire memo was marked 'Top Secret' and the paragraph in question was marked 'SNF' which means Sensitive - No Foreign. Even foreign intelligence services of our allies were not allowed to see it.

You said:

And I pointed out that the reason he is 'mysteriously absent' is that he no longer works for the FCC. Any more questions?

OH, now I understand. You PRESUME he gave her classified information, as opposed to knowing it.

As for not knowing or caring who wrote the memo - well, you SAID it was written by a colleague of Plame's at CIA. It wasn't. So I guess you just don't know or care whether what you say is accurate.

NO... I knew that, but was merely provideing some agitprop of my own.. Powell was absent even WHILE he was in the post.. No big loss.. That was part of my point.. Few there be that even know he was head of the FCC.. Didn't expect that many Would know.. Whether there or gone he was not and is not the point anyway..

I presume he gave her classified information the same way I know he gave Corn and Kristof classified information.

As for the memo, no I don't care because it fails to enlighten anyone of who in the CIA was speaking to reporters and I said it could have been a set up to find that question out? When you find the statement of who I said actually wrote it then I will stand corrected but even if that is the case it doesn't change the facts that Wilson had been speaking to reporters and reporters had been speaking to sources inside the CIA.

I will guarantee that no matter how much you want it to be someone in the administration it's not and my source from the MSM has it absolutely correct!

That rope just keeps on getting longer and longer -- waiting for the sound of the trap door opening and the MSM falling with the noose around their collective necks! What a sight to behold! Wonder if the DU'ers will commit hari-kari at the same time??
