Listening to the BBC here on the computer. Reported just described Mr. Blair as "irritated".
Also, reporters allude to the fact that they don't know much, and the police are not telling them much.
I am somewhat confused by the different reports.

excuse me BBC, but others are reporting that the bombings were not just "attempts" - one or more may have gone off.
London Police Chief called them 'attempts'.
[They -- govt and media -- are downplaying the whole thing. Don't want to upset anyone.]
