Talk about appearing blindfolded before a kangaroo court. Then again, CBS newsman-turned-author Bernard Goldberg might not have recalled before appearing last night on CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" that the host was a lead member of the Clinton/Gore communications team in 1992. "I've been doing this a long, long time, and I have never, ever, ever, never -- I could say never and ever 10 more times -- experienced what I just went through," Mr. Goldberg told Inside the Beltway late yesterday after he taped the show, which is to air tonight, from Miami. "Deutsch disagreed with everything, and that is just fine," said Mr. Goldberg, the best-selling author of "Bias" who has written the new book "100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is No. 37)." "But then, unbeknownst to me, they brought on a panel of five, plus Donny, all of whom took the other side. And it's not like they just respectfully disagreed; there was name-calling, ganging up; it was unbelievable. And not one of them even read the book. They admitted it. "It was more than an ambush," he said. "It was the most cynical, dishonest thing I have ever been lassoed into. They misled me." Immediately after the taping, Mr. Goldberg said, he told the show's producer, Marilyn Cutler, that Mr. Deutsch had been "dishonest." "I told her that she should be ashamed," he said. "A short time later, she called back, crying like a baby. She said, 'I am resigning.' And I told her, 'You should resign.' It was one big setup. And they used her to get me into it. They wanted to kick my [expletive] on national television -- six people, all basically calling me an idiot."

My brother and I laugh all the time about Donny and his dumb show. He's a wanna-be something, I just can't figure out what. I'll have to watch O'Reilly tonight and check this out.
That's liberalism. Silence any opposition. Political correctness not only silences the tongue, it oppresses all choices that aren't liberal.
Sorry - I couldn't resist. The BJ is one of my least favorite commentators - but, did you know he wrote a book?
This woman should be held up as an HONEST member of the old media. It's almost cetain that she is a good liberal, but to have the integrity to resign over something like this gives me hope for that corrupt institution.
I remember him being on during the first season. I don't remember the specific task, but it might have been the advertising campaign for the jet - the one the women's team sexed up so much.
He wore a tight white tee shirt, and his nipples showed...it was shudderingly gross.
That's right. Go on, get out of here :)
Can't take the heat, Bernie?
He is very good friend of Trump's.
That explains it all.
More like a fair playing field.
He reminds me of these guys who put on the no money down real estate seminars.
Judging from the behavior of the Donny Deutsch gang, I'd say the book must be great..
Amazon.com Sales Rank: #6 in Books
And once again the Left shows their love and support of the "little people". They have a gang-bang and leave it to their employee to clean the jizz off the floor.
hmmm... I just thought you were trying to say 5/6ths
Donny who???
How much of a chance did the 100 people in his book have to respond before it was published? Bernie's a big boy, he shouldn't complain when the people he ambushes ambush him back. If this had happened to Michael Moore would any of us do anything but yawn?
And those are just the nursing homes!
Goldberg himself might not have had anything to do with the (and Al Franken is number 37) part. The editor might have done it to sell more books.
Something similar occurred with John Stossel's book "Give Me A Break". That's the title of the book. But then, this was added (How I Exposed Hucksters, Cheats, and Scam Artists and Became the Scourge of the Liberal Media). That's just to sell books. If you read Stossel's book, he is still faithfully libertarian and doesn't change his views just to please conservatives.
The same with Goldberg. He includes well-known conservatives in his list of people negatively influencing America. I know Judge Roy Moore is on the list, along with others. Please don't judge the book by it's cover :-). You're right, the line in parentheses is a pander, but the actual book itself represents his actual views.
Bernie G. is a hero, God love him. The Left absolutely hates the truth, and like Dracula, they'll stop at nothing to destroy people who let the sunlight in.
I'm about halfway through the book. He has a good writing style with sarcastic remarks about most of them. Besides Franken, which I haven't read yet, he takes on a lot of the bigwhigs like Robert Byrd, Maxine Waters, Barbra Steisand, Barbara Walters, Paris Hilton (actually her parents for producing Paris), Diane Sawyer, Howard Stern, not to mention some conservatives whose names escape me at the moment, except for Michael Savage.
When I heard about the book last week, I made a point to look for it when my husband and I stumbled into a Barnes & Noble Potter Party last weekend. I am also a real bookaholic and have more books than I can read for at least five years and yet temptations keep coming up. Thank goodness you can get bookcases for a pretty good price at Ikea. And I have an indulgent husband. ;)
I guess Mr. Goldberg can now join the ranks of those who are most dangerous to the left: Newt Gringrich, Robert Bork, Karl Rove, Richard M. Nixon. There are many others but I should keep this post short.
