I've cooled my heels on that for a bit.
Thank you!
After a hurricane passes, people around here look like walking zombies...and, when they finally let go of the anxiety, they crash for a couple days. I've been down all week with conjuctivitis and bronchitis, bad stuff.
The last big direct hit we had here was Alicia.
On the other hand, we've had our share of flooding such as was caused by Allison a few years ago. That one ate my car.
Are you feeling any better today?
So have you moved?
The FOX News animation just showed it turning North into Texas.
(Crud.)
Ian, weird weather here in So. Dak., too.
It is now 109 degrees in Rapid City. At our house, elevation about 5000 ft., it is 103. I've lived here 30 years and have never seen it this hot in the higher Black Hills. Most people around here do not have air condioning, so this is quite a shock for us.
Still better than a hurricane. Having lived in coastal Louisiana, I know about those.
Well, she's hit the forecast track point dead on. The next track point seems to have a more westerly direction to it than this one. WIll be interesting to see if Miss Emily maintains the strict WNW track.
Based on what data?
Report here said high over Texas will send Emily into Mexico.
I don't know. They just did a quick blurb with an animation in the background. The track was a slow right-hook, straight into Texas.
The news was "blah, blah, blah, Cat-5, blah, blah, blah..."
REALLY good time to leave Cancun.
No, still live in the same neighborhood. But we did buy a house that already had rolladin shutters on every window. I swear this was one of the biggest selling points for Mr. Twin2. Now instead of hours putting up the shutters, I just push the button. This really has helped the stress level in hurricane preparation. We figured this feature would have cost over $25,000 to install.
Hey, that's what ya get for hanging your state out over the water like that...
Hi you guys.. I'm back after 3 unexpected days in our local hospital. My daughter had an appendectomy Thursday night. What an ordeal, but she's going to be fine. It's great to come back and see that Emily isn't threatening Mobile or Pensacola!
That is a great feature. But let's hope your power doesn't ever go off early and catch you by surprise, or you have alternative power backup.
