I don't know which military school they attended together. I caught that in a passing comment Jugs made one night this week.

BTW, I went though the JW school in Panama and spent a little time in the Southern Command.

My only experience with Panama is the few trng mission we had there, and then Op Just Cause in late 89.

Nice place, imo. Clean it up and it would be Hawaii.

If Tom hid money for himself and the Panama and Nicarauga "businessmen" wanted their money back maybe they needed a way to "force" the issue?? makes ya go hmmm.... Maybe the guy on the plane with Natalee that is missing??? They've never given his name? Cause it might come up in connection with the SEC cases??

Or the Twitty brothers could have been innocently involved and testified about the scheme and this could be revenge against them...

I agree that everyone is innocent until proven guilty...and this is one weird case.

I never said it was fact. I said it was someone else's theory. If you read my post today, and my reasons for never posting it back in June, you would have seen that I said I didn't post it because it was too far out. In fact, I never even took the time to see who was head of AmSouth because I really don't care. I simply posted it today to show "stopem" where the rumor could have started!

I noticed a real brotherhood of spec ops types between Brits, Aussies, Americans, etc. on some training missions. I wouldn't be surprised to see that camraderie extended to the spec ops of other nations....esp. former eastern bloc nations.

I remember reading that story at SM and tried to find some info about it via Google.

All Google coughed up was a story about a Panamanian man, one Robert Picou, who scammed Mississippi investors out of $2.5 million (with the help of a securities dealer) by agreeing to deliver, through his new business venture, a large quantity of blue crab.

Once he received the cash, he and his partner divvied it up and he split for Panama or Nicaragua.

I think he and his partner are now in jail.

I think that if Amsouth or Amsouth Investment Services were guilty of involvement in a $120 million scam, it would be all over the news. Also, Tom Twitty is the President of Amsouth Investment Services, not its owner. And I think it was registered in Rhode Island for tax purposes, not to conduct business in Rhode Island.

toldyou....I did read it and did see that, LOL....I should have said that the ortg poster was wrong, sorry.

xzins....yes, it seems that it was tom twitty who filed the articles of incorporation for Amsouth to do business in RI, but what he in Amsouth Corp is unknown to me.....he may work in the legal dept of the parent org.....I don't think the finance types would be sent to RI to tackle the legal/regulatory issues involved in establishing an insurance/investment licensein another state, but I could be wrong aboutit.

I think von Kuhn is the chairman of AIS and Tom Twitty is its president (or was, at least at time of registration). Registry in R.I. is, I imagine, because of ease of registration or for tax purposes.

Thanks, that is exactly what I remember reading. Like a lot of theories, it has some facts mixed in with a lot of fiction which you were right to originally detect.

I find so much of this case to be beyond reasonable that even many of the theories that seem far out deserve at least the thought process to dismiss.

This kidnapping theory is waaayyy out there in left field.

Natalee's a Holloway....NOT a Twitty.

Nobody involved w/the oil company would have known NH was going to Aruba or who she was.

And even if they did, they sure wouldn't have chosen the likes of joran to pull off a kidnapping & ALL ROADS LEAD STRAIGHT TO JORAN.

This case centers on no one but joran & the Kalpoes. Too many eyewitnesses saw them w/NH last.

There's no conspiracy here. Plain & simple.
