All Google coughed up was a story about a Panamanian man, one Robert Picou, who scammed Mississippi investors out of $2.5 million (with the help of a securities dealer) by agreeing to deliver, through his new business venture, a large quantity of blue crab.
Once he received the cash, he and his partner divvied it up and he split for Panama or Nicaragua.
I think he and his partner are now in jail.
I think that if Amsouth or Amsouth Investment Services were guilty of involvement in a $120 million scam, it would be all over the news. Also, Tom Twitty is the President of Amsouth Investment Services, not its owner. And I think it was registered in Rhode Island for tax purposes, not to conduct business in Rhode Island.
