The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Suspicious briefcase forces evacuations (TX)

Worshippers arriving at a Northwest Side mosque this morning found an open briefcase filled with money and, deeming it suspicious, called police.

The San Antonio Police Department's bomb squad asked for the evacuation of several nearby apartments and shut down Fairhaven Street until they determined there was nothing explosive or dangerous in the silver briefcase.

It was just money, about $1,600 that might have been meant as a donation for the Islamic Center of San Antonio at 8638 Fairhaven St. (snip)

Passengers' suspicions lead to search of ship in Newport (RI)


NEWPORT - A dinner cruise aboard the Harbor Queen on Tuesday night turned into an exercise in homeland security after some passengers expressed concerns about four men of Indian descent and an unattended GAP bag.

The four men, all American citizens who work at the Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Connecticut, were detained after the boat was diverted to a pier at Fort Adams State Park about 7:30 p.m., instead of its home berth at Bowen's Ferry Landing. Members of the Newport Police Department, the Rhode Island State Police, the state Department of Environmental Management and the Coast Guard were waiting at the dock.

"Roughly, the whole thing kind of came down to nothing," Petty Officer Dan Coates said this morning.(snip)

Coates said the captain of the Harbor Queen phoned the Coast Guard station at Castle Hill after receiving reports that some passengers were concerned about an unattended shopping bag and what they believed to be the suspicious activities of four men aboard the dinner cruise.

I concur, and would add the Iranian decision to continue the nuclear program and the clear Israeli and US positions that pertain.Based on the facts and your clear thoughts, the "possibly", in my opinion, can be deleted, strengthening the statement to this being "the most relevant time frames since 9/11".
Congress and the President will be out of DC, I understand, until early September, but the timeframe is clearly flashing red.

Warning on cyanide theft



An urgent warning has been issued to Shropshire residents after a number of pots of poison were stolen from an industrial estate.

Telford police issued the warning after five pots of gold potassium cyanide were stolen from a locked store cupboard at an industrial unit in Halesfield, overnight.

The poison is used in the process of making gold plating and is lethal if ingested, even in small amounts.

The 100g pots are clearly labelled. The substance looks similar to rock salt, police said today.

One of Zawahiri's plans was cyanide sprayed from perfume bottles to attack the London Tube.

Remember the 7-7 bombers large purchase of expensive perfume. I have heard they shave themselves and use rose water scent prior to homicide bombing but not Jean Paul Gaultier, Fahrenheit, Emporio Armani and Boss.

Jermaine Lindsay also bought Acetone Peroxide - also known as TATP or "Mother of Satan" - which was used in the London bombs.

Al-Qaida in Palestine (Gaza)

A report from The Global Justice Group[1]:

An Al-Qaeda affiliated Yahoo Group published today (August 2nd) a communiqué[2] signed by an organization called the 'Jihad Brigades in Palestine – the military wing of al-Qaeda in Palestine'[3]. This organization claimed responsibility for missile attacks directed at Jewish settlements in Gaza on Saturday morning.
According to the communiqué: "this attack took place as a part of the Islamic Jihad war which is carried out by our Mujahedin brothers in al-Qaeda’s global organization against the Jews and the Crusaders… We stress that the Brigades are not a new or coincidental [phenomena] in Palestine…".

The Jihad Brigades in Palestine also released a video tape showing preparations for the attacks.



'The Jihad Brigades in Palestine – the military wing of al-Qaeda in Palestine' is an unknown organization and at this point the reliability of this communiqué is unclear.
