The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

BIDDEFORD — The cluster of 50 or so headstones is set at a different angle from the other graves in Woodlawn Cemetery and inscribed with names like Mustafa, Adhams and Tahir. This small group of graves facing Mecca is the only visible reminder of a Muslim community that once existed in this city, far more famous for its Franco-American heritage. The graves belong to Albanian Muslims who came to Biddeford to work in the textile industry nearly 100 years ago.

And if they are a little known aspect of local history, the mosque they established in one of the mills - believed to be the first mosque in North America - has been even more obscured by time.

U.S.-Led Troops Asked to Set a Date

ASTANA, Kazakhstan -- Russia, China and the Central Asian states asked U.S.-led troops on Tuesday to fix a date for their departure from military bases in Central Asia that were set up to support operations in Afghanistan in 2001.

The United States operates military airbases in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan -- two of the five former Soviet Central Asian republics that Russia still views as its backyard and where China, seeking oil and gas, is an increasingly vocal player.

Cindy, every time I see a post that says you are updating a thread, I wish there was one long list of just the threads that are being updated.

You do so many, as does Backhoe and Calpernia has a couple that she keeps adding to. I know there are many Freepers working on on-going threads.

Is there a way that we could have a link to a thread that listed only threads (no articles or comments or even notices that it was updated, let them go look) on our opening page header?

SNIP: The Nantucket Police Department with help from Barnstable police, the Massachusetts State Police, the Coast Guard, and the FBI, arrested four teenagers for threatening to bomb a ferryboat. Police said the teens called Hy-Line Cruises' ticket office in Nantucket and told the agent not to let any ferries leave the port or else the boats would blow up. The Hy-Line employee immediately called local and state police, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard, and within a half-hour, Nantucket harbor was closed to all ferryboat traffic.

The phone call was traced, and the teens apprehended. Nantucket Detective Lt. Jerry Adams called the suspects "children," and said their bomb threat disrupted transportation for hundreds of people and cost thousands of dollars.

The funny part, is he was on the way to hear special Christian Singers, who are at a Church in Kingman, and needed to eat, LOL, I was between him and town....then we

Now to your report on Russia asking us to leave our bases, that is what I thought of when you found the Putin order to
preempetively strike the terrorists.

He can now bomb our bases and say that he had word that there were terrorists working/hiding there.

Now for a believe it or not, I left the VERY Liberal talk show host on KGO for the past hour, he is saying that China
wants to be the #1 in World Power.........

And he says we should not be selling parts to them that can
be used by the Chinese military.......

Carel has surprised me before, you never know what he is going to talk about, mostly, I turn him off.

Most of the San Francisco callers, think he is wrong, that it is one world and China will never strike the U.S.

So even when "one of them" tries to tell them that trouble is coming, they do not listen.

I think Carel's idea of teaching us how to speak Chinese on each program is a riot, he had the first lesson from a tape tonight, it was how to get aquainted with the pretty girl you just met.........LOL
