Taxi and Limousine Commission cops who busted a livery cabdriver for
cruising Manhattan with a suspended license yesterday got a surprise
when they popped his trunk — over $90,000 in cash, authorities said.
Raymond Okafor, 46, might have obtained the cash in a pyramid
scheme, a TLC source told The Post.
Okafor had unwittingly picked up an undercover TLC cop....part of a
routine sting to bust livery drivers, who are not supposed to pick up
people from the street.
At that point, the cabby told the cop he had a large amount of cash in
a suitcase in the trunk......The bag was searched and found to contain
$94,770, the source said.
They are trying to figure out if the money was obtained illegally,
possibly in fraudulent investment scams, where people recruit others
to fork over cash.

Israel has been attacked by Palestinian Arab terrorists 25,375 times
since October 2000, General Security Service Director Yuval Diskin
told his Knesset overseers Tuesday.
That figure includes 142 “suicide” bomb attacks, Diskin said in a
briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
The results of that terrorist onslaught are 1,048 persons murdered
and over 5,600 injured and maimed, as well as incalculable mental
trauma.
Diskin said some 18,000 Palestinian Authority residents and another
225 Arab citizens of Israel have participated in perpetrating these
attacks.
The committee also heard a detailed analysis by former Defense
Ministry official Uzi Rubin on the massive Muslim missile threat facing
the Jewish state.
Rubin said over 1,000 Iranian, Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi long-range
missiles capable of delivering a combined 500 tons of military-grade
warheads were currently pointed at and capable of reaching all points
of Israel.
“If Israel does not present a credible response, the missile threat will
endanger the security of its citizens, limit its military and political
freedom of action, constitute a serious obstacle to any political
agreement and endanger the stability of any agreement that is
reached,” Rubin told the committee.<<

efforts in the mid-1990s that handcuffed the CIA's abilities to recruit
spies - a key policy that helped allow the attacks of Sept. 11 to take
place with no intelligence warnings. Current and former CIA
operatives say that Clinton administration policies, which forbade the
CIA from recruiting known terrorists and other criminals, left the U.S.
government bereft of all intelligence about such terrorist groups.
In 1995, then-Rep. Robert Torricelli, D-N.J., made secrets public at
the behest of left-wing activist Bianca Jagger, his girlfriend at the
time, according to Newark Star-Ledger columnist Paul Mulshine in the
January/February issue of Heterodoxy.
The secrets suggested that the CIA had on its payroll one or more
unsavory characters who had been involved in murder.

US gives North Korea evidence that nuclear secrets came from AQ Khan

WASHINGTON: The United States has for the first time presented North Korea with specific evidence behind its allegations that North Korea secretly obtained uranium enrichment technology from Abdul Qadeer Khan, the New York Times (NYT) quoted two senior administration officials as saying.
According to NYT, the two officials said that the decision to share the intelligence with North Korean negotiators was part of an effort to convince North Korea that any discussions about disarmament must cover not only the nuclear weapons programme it boasts about, but a second one that it now denies. Putting on the table the evidence that North Korea obtained technology from the network built by Abdul Qadeer Khan is significant because it is an effort to break an impasse over the scope of North Korea’s nuclear program, the paper said.
“American officials were reluctant to describe the North Korean response, but one official said that when presented with the evidence – chiefly the testimony of Khan – they argued with the US negotiators about it,” said the paper
“American officials have never made public the details of Khan’s statements to Pakistani officials, who have declined to make him available for direct interrogation. But they have shared the information widely with Asian allies, and elements of it have leaked out, including Khan’s assertion – doubted by several specialists in the American intelligence community – that the North Koreans once showed him what they said were three fully assembled nuclear weapons.
“The two Bush administration officials declined to speak on the record, citing the delicacy of both the intelligence and the current negotiations. They would not describe how much detail had been given to the North Koreans. The presentation came in the first two days of talks in Beijing, which American officials said may stretch into next week,” said NYT.
