"The TIMES is planning to lead with calls for Rove's resignation, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT. " If all else fails, you can try tears and hitting with your pillows.

So, Rove talks to a reporter and never mentions her name. Just remember, Cooper never published his story. How can Rove be the leak if Cooper didn't publish?

Once upon a time our side would be in trouble, but it's hard to take the dinosaur seriously when it's up to its waist in a tarpit.

The press getting excited about this (Jeff Moran from ABC asked a bunch of questions today that would have been quite appropriate if Rove had been proven guilty of treason and sentenced to the gas chamber) is like Woodward and Bernstein jumping up and down because they caught a Nixon Administration official admitting he ate lunch at the Watergate once. They are so desperate...

Someone please help me out here.
The NYT has a reporter sitting in jail to protect its source, but is screaming to "out" a source of a sister publication?
What am I missing?

Would Bush appoint Rove "On February 8, 2005, Rove was appointed deputy chief of staff in charge of policy" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove), knowing that Rove was guilty?
I don't think so. Rove would have warned Bush he was going to be implicated.
The NYT is being very careless.

This is good! No more pretense of non-bias coverage, the New York Times admits it's out to destroy this administration. The New York Times has always wanted to take out Karl Rove, they just decided to go public with what we've known all along.
Can you imagine what hell would break lose if a newspaper had pledged to turn up the heat on say, a Bruce Lindsey?

So the NYT has decided to OPENLY GO FOR YELLOW JOURNALISM.
Does the NYT have any credibility?
Serioiusly, the NYT has a reputation for MAKING UP information so who can honestly say the NYT not just making it up? answer NOBODY!
Even FNC is buying the NYSlimes line. The MSM is going to circle the waggons. I am so disapointed that FNC is not point out the NYT effort.

Drudge is clueless ... he keeps throwing crap at the barn door hoping something will stick. Late last week (Friday) he had headlines telling us SCJ Rehnquist had submitted his resignation ... didn't happen. He got lucky once when the liberal media (Newsweek) leaked a story on Lewinsky ... ever since he's been sucking hind tit.

MICHAEL ISIKOFF, REPORTER, NEWSWEEK: I should say, we did more than quote attorneys. What we did is we obtained an internal TIME magazine e-mail that Matt Cooper wrote to his bureau chief, Michael Duffy, immediately after talking to Karl Rove on July 11th, that's before the Novak column, in which he says: "Double super-secret background, not to be attributed to the White House or Rove, but Rove gave me a big warning about some of what Joe Wilson has been saying. He wasn't sent to Niger by George Tenet or Vice President Cheney, it was Wilson's wife who apparently works at the agency on WMD issues who authorized the trip." That's the quote from Matt Cooper to his editor right after talking to Karl Rove.
It doesn't answer underlying questions here. For one thing, as many people have pointed out, and we pointed out, Karl Rove doesn't identify Valerie Plame by name, so that's an important distinction.
