US President George Bush is attending the G8 Summit at Gleneagles, Scotland, which unfortunately was disturbed today due to the terrorist attack in London. British PM Tony Blair left Gleneagles to return to London briefly to assess the situation though returned to the summit later in the evening.

The summit will continue tomorrow but it is expected to end probably a little earlier than originally intended to allow Tony Blair to return to London tomorrow afternoon

Vice President Dick Cheney will undergo a routine exam Friday to check the condition of a high-tech pacemaker that was placed in his chest in June 2001.

Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride said the tests at George Washington University Medical Center would include a physical exam, an electrocardiogram, an echocardiogram and a stress test. The vice president planned to be back at work later in the day, she said.

"It's a routine physical," she said. She said the vice president also would have a colonoscopy later this month.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice signed the book of condolences at the British Embassy in Washington she also met with the British Ambassador to the U.S. David Manning

Good heavens, I'm just reading in the UK Times that Rudy Giulani was at Liverpool Station this morning just blocks away from the first attacks!

I'm also convinced that this was timed for the first working day of the G8 - to attract as much attention as possible. No mistake that the Ambassador from Greece was beheaded today - BEHEADED, for Pete's sake.

Sen. TurbinDurbin is worried about the jerks at Camp Gitmo being exposed to cold (or heat) and THEY BEHEAD an Ambassador?

Does it give TurbinDurbin pause for even 1 nanosecond, that this is how our enemies treat their enemies, and we give them food that I'd sure like to have prepared for me on a daily basis, and 5 prayer calls a day that I'd sure appreciate having since I only get the time for a one prayer time and Bible reading. Sheesh. Sure gives one pause, don't it?

BTW, I was just thinking on Wednesday, that the Summer of 2001, everyone was fixated on "shark attacks in FL" and what took all the scare and fear off of the front page was the towers crumbling and people (22 New Yorkers I knew died in the WTC, 9 in the Pentagon) jumping to their deaths.

Sure gives one pause, and a reason to reconsider what we take for granted, every day of our blessedly free days, here in America.

Hi snugs. Great job as usual. Hope things are calm.

The last picture of the President in this group has a Reaganesque quality to it. I think it is a combination of boots and brown suit, but I'm not sure.

Oh, my heavens! That is just scary! But isn't ironic that he was "very close" to the attack here and also right in the heart of the attack on September 11th!

Good evening, snugs. As I drove home today, I saw some individuals who fly our flag had lowered them to half staff out of solidarity with our British friends. I don't know if that is proper protocol and I don't care. I thought you would like to know.

I love the "we've got your back, Tony" look the president is giving to PM Blair.

Despite that "little tiff" in 1776, the US and the UK could not ask for better allies than each other....

Long live the Queen! God Bless President Bush and Prime Minister Blair!

I am not good at predicting odds, but I would have to guess that they would be really high! I'll bet he kinda thinks maybe he shouldn't go out of the house! LOL!

I was just about to mention that he has been on British TV on most stations during the day.

He has said very good things about how the London people and emergency services reacted and how Britain and London are people of freedom and great resolve. I think he was very impressed today by how London services and the people reacted.

Unfortunately London over the years have had plenty of experience of being attacked from the dark days of the second world war right through the IRA bombings and now the WOT.
