CAIRO, Egypt A group calling itself "The Secret Organization of Al Qaeda in Europe" has posted a claim of responsibility for the series of blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The statement was published on a Web site popular with Islamic militants, according to Der Spiegel magazine in Berlin, which republished the text on its own Web site.
"Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan," said the statement, which was translated by The Associated Press in Cairo.
The authenticity of the message could not be immediately confirmed.

Something to think about is the method used by Blackjack Pershing in dealing with muslims in the Philippines.Absolutely. But remember that Pershing did not indiscriminately kill women and children, but executed terrorists, humiliating them with ritualized sacrilege.

Something about this doesn't make sense to me either.
If the islamotrash had really intended to vent their displeasure with English involvement in the Middle East, a Timothy McVeigh-style action against Chatham House would have been far more appropriate.
Bus and subway attacks against civilians simply serve to push the sheeple out of indifference and into an anti islam position.
To: Neoliberalnot
Good.
So we agree that the best policy for fighting militant Islam is (1) capturing or killing terrorists, (2) extracting useful information from captured terrorists as efficiently as possible by any means that proves effective, (3) executing them in a humiliating, honor-destroying fashion as soon as objective (2) is met.

There is a middle ground between genocide and wrist-slapping.Ah, but genocide will fix the problem, wrist slapping won't.
So therefore we should tend towards genocide..

You guys are way off.
The Madrid bombing showed that terror can turn citizens against their own government and make them effectively, if not intentionally, pro-terrorist.
Bombing Chatham Hose would only make sense if Muslims were trying to punish past offenses, but they aren't.
They are trying to tell the British public that their government cannot defend them from terrorism and that the only way to safety is to give Islamic terror carte blanche abroad.
That's the purpose of the bombing - the Muslims are hoping that the British are made of no sterner stuff than the cowardly Spaniards.

My stance on this was that if, as we've been hearing, this was designed to coincide with the G8 summit, why didn't they bomb in Scotland instead of London? Someone on here said that London had a larger population and therefore would produce more casualties. Perhaps that is so, but it still doesn't make sense to me.
OTOH, if they just want to scare the British, as you say, bombing London makes sense.

"..."We warned the British government repeated. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success."Gee, you mean the Muslims did this? What a surprise.

We don't win by behaving like them - murdering innocent children and women along with the guilty. We win by tracking down the guilty and mercilessly eliminating them wherever found. It's a damn good thing you weren't in charge in the 1940s. You would have had our forces hunt for the pilots of the planes used to bomb Pearl Harbor.
We killed millions of innocent men, women, and children in order to destroy the Nazis and Empire of Japan. We destroyed entire cities. In effect, our grandparents said "F*** em all". They knew how to fight a war.

LOL! And how many innocent civilians do you intentionally kill before it crosses the line from "tending toward" genocide to actual genocide?
Please tell us where you draw the line on your slippery slope.
