BLAST AT CITY TUBE STATION - FOUR BOMB EXPLOSIONS AROUND LONDON

There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.

There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.

The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.

A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."

British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".

"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.

"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."

One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.

The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.

He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.

Big brother is watching, cameras everywhere in London. On a slightly more gruesome note, they had the fingerprints of those we released, I'm sure they printed every hand they found at the scene immediately.

What would we do to a country or say about it that let out of one of it's prisons a terrorist, who then made his way to our shores and blew several stations in the NYC subway system to kingdom come, taking probably 100+ people and injuring hundreds more?

I certainly hope it is not true, but it may well be true. Re: about one of the terrorists today being a graduate of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, rehabilitated and then returned to society.

I just popped over there. Any thread/comment claiming Bush MIHOP (made it happen on purpose in DUmmie speak) is being deleted (and yet, more keep popping up). Skinner's trying to remove the evidence that he runs an insane asylum, not a web forum.

Right, it goes without saying that the bomber is intent on killing others, but if he intends on going up with the bomb then it's a suicide bombing.. just wondering if they are playing with words here as the term Suicide bomber is a term quite often used about the bombers in Iraq. Not sure if I'm clear.

It is rather scary what the DUers (and far left generally) believe. I am concerned that the more unhinged among them might try something crazy--like going after the President--or worse, turn from passively supporting terrorists to active support (Team America might not be far from the truth).

In an separate matter, Channel 4 here has run an story, in which they have said that 40 people alone were estimated to have perished in the bus bomb, according to Police sources.

I haven't seen them report that on their webpage yet. Did you see that report on the television news?
