July 6, 2005 -- A racist ex-con confessed that he fatally stabbed a beloved mother of two at a White Plains mall because he wanted "to kill a white person." "She was not innocent. She was white," convicted rapist Phillip Grant confessed in a chilling videotaped statement to cops that was played in White Plains City Court yesterday — the same day victim Concetta Russo Carriero was laid to rest.
The 43-year-old homeless man told cops he had never laid eyes on Russo Carriero, 56, before he stabbed her in the chest twice last Wednesday on the seventh level of the Galleria mall garage.
"All I knew was she had blond hair and blue eyes, and she had to die . . . I didn't care, as long as she was white," he said.
"I wanted to kill someone who represented the white lifestyle."

I never understood the dynamic whereby white people will lower themselves to lower class ghetto culture rather than the other way around.

There's a lot of white trash culture and low class ghetto culture isn't responsible for that. I mean I hear people say what you say and exactly what is white culture that anyone black in the ghetto should want to be that way? Being smart and being respectful has hardly acting white or white culture. White people didn't invent manners, esp. the nasty ones I meet on Long Island.
As long as I'm thinking about Long Island, look at the Gotti brothers. They get into fights in Roosevelt Field mall just like the young bruthas. Straight trash. They have a lot of money but it's doing nothing for them.

I would blame their mother and rest of the family for the trashy upbringing more than anything else. I've yet to meet a respectable white man who imitated anything in gangsta rap. I think it's only happening because gangsta rap and gangsta hiphop (there is nice hiphop but those aren't the big sellers) are so heavily marketed. I don't know how this turned from a street thing from the old crack epidemic days to a world wide phenomena though. No one has answered that question for me yet. Also, no one has answered why there are many young Jewish people managing rappers like Stan Cohen,etc. Or why when I go into the Korean internet cafe they're listening to unedited gangsta rap. I listen to some gangsta rap but it's because I like some of it and it's not reality to me. I suppose that's why other people listen but it's just fascinating to me.
Another thing before I go, that acting white mentality is very entrenched. I wish I didn't have to go to work because I like to discuss this issue. I think I'll have to write a blog entry about this. There's a lot of misconceptions on both sides.
Don't get me started. As an Italo-American myself, they are utterly embarassing.
I HATE that show. I watched the first two episodes then I prompted sent a letter of support to the Italian-American group that was protesting the show. My father went to jail just for being friends with John Gotti but when I tell that to some people they act like it's the best thing ever. It's not. Only thing I find annoying about the party crowd on LI is that their idea of Italian heritage is getting as guido as possible. NOT. /rant off

I wouldn't say that *lol* More southern gentleman ways than anything else unless that's your definition of being a cracker hehehe. Some people take being called a redneck as a compliment. Yesterday, I was given a cabride home by a very genteel old Southern black man who was playing blues music, I mean really old stuff. I gave him a good tip, a good tip for not turning on rap music as some cab drivers do when I sit in the car *lol*

Anytime someone with big old thumpin speakers pulls up next to me playing rap I put in a CD I made from this soundtrack....on my big old thumpin speakers I had installed for just such occasions..... I call it shotgun rap..........:o)
