As we enter the 4th of July weekend I am beginning preparations to attend my daughters graduation from USMC OCS at Quantico. This will be my third trip to the place men and women train to serve their country. To say I am proud of my two Marine daughters is to only admit to obvious
. I lay awake many nights hoping, praying that they will not only be safe, but be the kind of leaders that can cut through the fog of their age and find clarity of purpose.
Our county is starting to foster, harbor and develop people who have no sense of country
concerned for themselves only. To have children who understand that its by sacrifice and laying aside a portion of their individual ness they can perhaps effect a great difference. Please pray for all our sons and daughters who have stepped out of their peer generation to place their lives on the line for all of us. God Bless them.
Prayers for your daughters, and congrats on your (youngest's?) graduation from OCS. :)
Welcome aboard from a mom of an Army daughter in Iraq. Congratulations on raising fine kids, God Bless you and your family.
God bless your daughters for their choice to serve, and bless you for raising such fine young women.
9.5 years for my son, lol. But he wants to go USAF.
I will pray for the safety of your girls, along with all the rest of our service people.
Oooorah!
Semper Fi Marines!

Congratulations and God Bless and Keep Your Two Marines!
The leaders of tomorrow will come from those of this generation who are serving now.
Semper Fi Dad!
Well Done.
Welcome aboard. God bless your two wonderful daughters and God Bless America.
Congrats. Are your daughters twins?
Be proud. By joining the U.S. military, they have joined America's finest and best. God Bless Them. They are watching our backs as we celebrate America's birthday.
Tell your daughters they will have my prayers and my deepest respect. Deepest.
To be in character, do not call it O C S.
To Marines, it is TBS ( The Basic School)
CONGRATULATIONS to your daughter.

Wow...having one Marine is quite and accomplishment, 2, and both girls......my hats off to you and them. I am AF and know that they are tough cookies. May God keep them safe in all they do.....and may He give you peace.....
Awesome, Dad, and welcome to FR!
And God bless you and your family.
You have a right to be as proud as any Dad can be. Thanks for raising two fine Americans.
God bless both your daughters and the rest of your family. I had hoped to go to a graduation at Quantico back in 2002 but my son wouldn't wait and went to Parris Island. We're waiting to hear sometime in the next few months that he made Sargeant. He's been asked to go to Quantico but enjoys Recon and soon Force more than the officer life.
Your pride comes through in your writing and it is well deserved. Maybe some day our kids will meet.
My wife and I will add you to the long list of Marines we pray for.
Congrats and welcome to Free Republic. Mine graduates in August and I'll be commissioning him. Pride and angst are a strange combination to have.
