I think they are saying the fathers involved in some way in the cover up. I read somewhere that the authorities down there checked the dads banking records and found he went to the ATM the night the girl disappeared 3 times at 300 am. and 3.45 am in the morning. Seems strange to need cash that late,but then again it's a party town. But I thought the mom said her husband was sound asleep? Who knows?

To be fair, I suppose it could be that Joran had his dad's bank card and made the withdrawals. Either way, one or both of them has some 'splainin to do!

I doubt seriously that the father went to the ATM twice at 3-ish in the AM just because he lives in a party town. Perhaps if he was in a casino, he may have cause to go to an ATM in the lobby, but I see no indication he was in a casino or partying anywhere.

His withdrawals at the time stated are very mysterious, slightly sinister, and frankly, stick out like sore thumbs.

It could have been pay-off money for rent on a boat and the boat's operator.

Or perhaps he intuited what was coming down on him within hours.....and he wanted to leave cash in the house for the immediate needs of his wife and family if he wasn't around, plus a minor amount of carryin' cash for himself if he needed it.

Then too, he may have withdrawn every last euro to leave with his wife for safe-keeping or to be sent to Holland.

In short, it's my belief he probably knew he wouldn't be getting to his bank at any time soon, if ever.......

Mom had no idea, since Mom was in Holland. She's only going on what Pop told her.

I have only read it from posters on various sites. I do not believe that I have read any confirmation of this.

I read the atm story on one the crime blogs discussing the case. Nothing was proven though. If the atm records show activity on the fathers card at 300 am and 3.45 who's to say the son didn't go in the fathers pants and swipe the card from the dad.If he sneaks out of the house,drinks in bars illegally and gambles in the casinos illegally this doesn't seem like a big stretch for me to believe that he'd steal the dads card!
