I am quite well rounded in personal self responsiblity to include, being in a leadership position. If a life can be saved or an accident prevented, yes by all means.

Being Captain of a cruise ship, you can delegate duties of safety/accident prevention through your subordinates on your ship. Responsiblity cannot be delegated, but duties can. Some things like a determined suicide may not be prevented, but it would be a shame/disgrace not to try.

Somehow I think you may be unfamiliar with sound leadership principles as it applies to those in charge of a cruise ship.

Be nice and so will I, for I would rather have pleasant information transactions than unpleasant ones.

Sincerely, NSNR

"I found it interesting that Beth said she had her own "agenda" when she went to see Paulus"

Beth believes she was kidnapped. She really appears to believe the vdns know something about it.

No matter, an honest person
would tell the truth, (however
it appeared to anyone) and not
changed their story of events
and then involve their friends.

I'm a mother and grandmother too. I'm still going with Beth's instincts. She saw him in person.

Nobody was sweating like the dad. The mom was perspiring, he had rivers flowing down his head and face.

I think Van Der Slug is more fitting. Slimy, lives under rocks, comes out at night, makes a mess of everything.

Good one!

There are probably a million stories such as yours.

There but for the Grace of God goes Demkicker.

Very well written -it scared me to death too, with flashbacks.

So no one is very concerned about this boat and her crew missing? No one?

I like old Shep because you just never know what is going to come out of his mouth next. Jane Skinner said to him that if she said one-half the things he says, she would be fired.

I thought he got his journalism degree from Ole Miss. What part of the great state of Mississippi are you from?

Yes, I find it more than a little curious. We're way ahead of the media curve...let's see if it picks up any steam.

At this point, with the investigation back at where they started, what would Beth be jeopardizing by telling the media some more of what she knows? Perhaps if she was to reveal a bit more, such as why she thinks Natalee was at the vdS home at 3:15am, it would put some pressure back on the vdS's.

What I saw in that interview was a very typical reaction from a mom and dad whose son is in trouble. Mom gets very emotional and shows it; dad is equally emotional but tries hard to stay at least outwardly calm and rational. The very effort of trying to stay cool can make you sweat.

But you weren't there the first night to see how rude and arrogant PVDS was to the Twittys, while ordering his son to keep his mouth shut.

PVDS obviously has shown a Jeckyl/Hyde persona to Beth Twitty. While everyone was hot that day, she said his sweating and mannerisms were remarkable.

You might want to check kcvl's posts (#3333, #3334, #3336 & #3338)regarding the sweating. BTW, kcvl, is a close friend of Natalee's aunt.

So maybe Natalee did ask to go see the sharks?? (As in the email purported to be from Deepak.) Or maybe she never ASKED to see them but was nevertheless made to make their acquaintance, G-d forbid???

That's what I'm wondering. Unless the FBI has told her to keep mum on specifics.

I agree with the DJ that JvdS may be too stupid to hide a body on his own, if he hid her he had help.

Yes, I was thinking, go to the adjacent islands and see if there are any boats there from Aruba. Then check the bars, brothels, etcetera, and see if any of the local low-lifes, the usual suspects, had suddenly come into some money.
