I suspect that McCain is working behind the scenes right now ...to defuse the entire situation. The TV cameras are off him. He needs to be the center of media attention and Dirtbin is hogging it.

McCain is planning a Sunday media blitz no doubt. Everyone wants to know what he'll say. By holding back, his face value is greater. He will enjoy getting air time at Turban's expense. And he'll want to say, "I talked privately with Durbin..."

Good point. But I think McCain has Kerry compartmentalized in his mind. Kerry's a fixture in the senate. McCain had to learn how to forgive him just to keep some shred of sanity over the years, back when the Old Media dominated. I wonder if he will experience anger transference at the Turban?
