Rush just got finished talking about how a spokesman for Sen. KKK Byrd said he didn't know if his boss was involved with any lynchings.
He noted that the question was posed by members of FreeRepublic.
Someone reported that one of the screens on Rush's desk looked like it was tuned to FR...
I do find it fascinating that, in an age when corporations such as Wachovia are seeing if they had any involvement in slavery over 140 years ago, Senator Sheets Byrd isn't challenged by the same groups to fully reveal his role in the KKK.
OoooH!!! That question is a punch to the solar plexus! :)
Classic Rush!
Hehehhehe...no joke!
"Why, we only lynched white, I say, white negroes".
Maybe Amnesty International should demand an inquiry!
Agree with you. Think about Mikulski and all the senators that recently "apologized" for lynchings yet Kleagle Byrd is never chastised or pressured to give up his seat like the demoncRATS performed on Trent Lott. This apology is setting the taxpayers up for taking tax dollars "to pay" for reparations, pure and simple.
I don't have the audio. I do have a Partial quote...
refering to MLK"....he took to his heels and disappeared, leaving it to others to cope with the destructive forces he had helped to unleash. And I hope well meaning negro leaders and individuals in the negro community in Washington will now take a new look at this man that gets other people into trouble and then takes off like a scared rabbit." Byrd-1968
The Newsmax link to the original posting of the article is dead :-(
Talk about this treason, Rush!

With all the Star Wars talk trying to compare people to Darth Vader, it seems the perfect fit is Sheets Byrd-- he was a sick bastard who practiced the worst kinds of bigotry, hatred and evil-- but he was "redeemed."
Senator Byrd sincerely regrets and apologizes for any lynchings he may have participated in. As the conscience of the Senate, Senator Byrd wants to make it clear that he no longer condones the lynching of any "niggers" whether they are white or black....
FFWD the audio by 5:06 . Usually audio is only available to non-members for just one day.
