Santa Maria,CA (AHN)-What could only be described as a surreal scene out of a Hollywood movie, "The King of Pop" aka Michael Jackson was found not-guilty on all ten counts the music superstar was facing.
Shocking to most legal analysts on television who had been for months calling the trial a done deal and that Jackson was going to jail for at least something, Jackson's legal team proved the case to the only people it mattered to in the end, "The Jury".
As Jackson lead attorney Tom Mesereau waited outside for the singer and his 4 SUV caravan to arrive, he checked his watch with what appeared to be nervous tension as the usually tardy client was living up to his reputation again of arriving on his own time.
Finally, the Jackson clan arrived.
All of them were there from father Joe to sister Janet, as a crucial support system for their little brother Michael who if he had been found guilty faced up to twenty three years in prison.
As the jury was seated it became a familiar scene as many Americans have come to know. Waiting on a high profile case to come to a conclusion on live global television. Whether it was shades of OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, Scott Peterson, or William Kennedy Smith. It did not matter at the end of the day as thousands of fans packed the streets in support of their music hero, in their eyes he has been not guilty since day one.
The charges were read via an audio hook up in the courtroom for media and the public to hear. Judge Rodney Melville had run a tight ship for the entire trial and was not about to let cameras into his courtroom to play out any unnecessary drama.
The verdict counts came in fast and furious. In the blink of an eye it was over and Michael Jackson was on his way back to Neverland to celebrate with family and friends at his spacious carnival theme park ranch in which he calls home.
Martin Stock, the founder of a Michael Jackson fan club in Germany told the Associated Press, ""The whole trial was laughable and Michael was treated inhumanly. I think people were trying to throw him into prison to get at his money."
Psychic and Jackson friend, Uri Geller,I'm trembling, this is so important. He did not let down his fans and all the people that love him. "He went through hell and now the nightmare is over."
The Rev.Al Sharpton who is also a Jackson friend and spokesman said "Justice has been served today,we still live in a country where a man is innocent until proven guilty."
It is not known what Jackson's future plans are but an offer from Donald Trump was put on the table two months ago to play Las Vegas for three years. An offer that would pay the singer in excess of $200 million dollars just for the performance rights alone.
I have said since day 1 that he was gonna walk. The case was weak and nobody that I know personally thought the same. Did he molest the kid in the early 90s? Yeah..I believe he did.
Did he molest this one? No way.
Both...I believe both made comments and rumored offers. Trump was quoted as saying something to the effect "michael needs to get past this, and when he does it would be the best thing for him to do."
I was never sure the charges for molesting would stick, however. I am not sure wacko jacko did molest those boys. But, I believe he is a Voyeur and that is pretty serious and could have been more easily charged. There are many people with that perversion. They are too cowardly and too ego-centric to actually involve themselves in molesting, worried about getting caught, etc. Instead, however, they go far enough and like to show little boys pictures, talk about sex and "being a man, " having them in bed and close to them, making them dependent on them, etc. - it is a typical pattern. Then they just watch them get aroused or listen when they ask questions about sex or have sex talks. That's how they get their kicks. I believe that is Jacko's MO. The DA should have pressed the perversion of voyeurism....that could have (IMHO) been more believable and MJ wouldn't be out tonite.
What a sick world we live in. Thank goodness MJ will have one final judgement day and there won't be any high priced defense attorney or flock of fans at his side.
That all look alike.
That says it all about the jury and their decision. Some O'Juicestice!
thanks for the clarification. Looks like Jacko will make out better than OJ. This just revives MJ's career. Both of them. :-}
I think the wording of the charge gave the jury an out. It was that MJ provided alcohol in order to seduce the boy.
Prosecutors could not prove MJ did indeed seduce the child....though a couple of the earlier prosecution witnesses gave testimony to seeing incidents of molestation.
thanks for the ping to the other thread -- here's his post-verdict photo.
The legal standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt," not shadow of a doubt. The jurors get this pounded in their heads pretty well in the instructions from the judge.
He might wind up like Elvis, an early demise due to abuse of prescription drugs. And despite all the "Michael is innocent!" fans outside the courtroom, most people don't want to buy his albums or see him in concert. But if he does go the concert route (maybe in Europe), expect his back problems to suddenly clear up as he moonwalks all over the stage...
Or the Diceman version.
Little Boy Blue
He needed the money.
play Las Vegas for three years. An offer that would pay the singer in excess of $200 million dollars just for the performance rights alone.
He'll be coming to local boys' clubs all over the area. He'll even throw in a nightcap for free.
Michael Jackson moonwalks out of the court... So, did this cure his back injures?
lol. You mean that "Play It Again Sam" strategy? LA has some interesting "new" Dem Players in office. And the brawl between black/latino caucauses isn't quite resolved, from what I hear. Good call, virgil! :)
That's what I meant, of course. And all jururs at every trial get it pounded into their heads and take their jobs very seriously. It just seeemed too hard to take the world of this grifter family. That's all it comes down too, whether the jurors say it or not.
As for how the Michael Jackson jury feels, if he did it again - they probably would hope he will get off again.
I wonder if the prosecution asked potential jurors of they are a member of, or have ever supported, NAMBLA and the ACLU (which has come out strong for select pedophiles). And also their opinions about pedophiles.
Interesting that Rev. Jesse Jackson came out in support of Michael. After Clinton pardoned a Chicago pedophile, the man was hired by Rev. JJ.
