200 post today. Hooray !!!!!
With Billie's help, of course. LOL
Luv, you need to have a text file saved somewhere (I always use "My Documents") paste this exact html text there that you used in your posts here to *set your table* LOL, so that you will have it ready to copy and paste into comment posts. You could copy each one of those 6 'examples' into one file and separate them with a line or something between them. My background graphics are stored on my server - you store your graphics at Fotki or somewhere, don't you? What you would do is to save a background image that you like the same way you save other graphics. (maybe set up a separate folder in Fotki named "backgrounds", and upload to that folder.) To CHANGE a background in one of the templates you're going to copy and paste into a text file, you would just delete MY url - http://etc - and replace it with one of yours.
I think you can look at the way it looks when it's posted and look carefully at the text that makes it look that way. You will see that if there is a very narrow 'border', it is usually some sort of a gradient background - or it could even be a solid bgcolor (from an html color code site - search google web for "html color codes".) There is usually some sort of a coordinated pattern that makes a much wider border (this is done with cellpadding - see the html text for that url.) Then there is almost always a solid color for the main part where you put your pics and text. THAT part will/should specify a total width in that command that has the last table background information. (see the text - I think most of those I gave as examples had either width=500 or somewhere about that width)
There ARE background sites that let you choose 3 different backgrounds and 'try' them to see what they look like together before you save any of them.
Luv, it took me the longest time just to understand even *half* what I've mentioned here. What I did was simply just save something someone else had posted, and used it over and over until I was comfortable playing with different widths and stuff. It just takes practice - lots of it. I know that mojo and tonk post table stuff all the time at the canteen - am sure there are many others there. Don't know if anyone mixes and matches as MANY as we do here, but however MANY one uses, it is still basically the same set of commands.
Again, I'm sorry for the length of this post! LOL

Well, not just faces, right, ladies? LOL

I love that picture, too. You know that Dubya would be petting Lucy for real if he saw her up close. :)

Thank you so much for that, Billie! It is gonna take me a while to absorb all of it so I will just save this post and read it over and over till it makes sense to a bonehead like me! LOL!
He sure would :-)
Can I use this background with the pic on my profile page? You are inspiring me to redo my profile page...lol, I will have to figure it all out again, took me forever to do it the first time.
Hi, GOPJ! I'm happy if you're happy. :)
Me too but I will come back to it because I to learn as well
Not too long but still Greek to me. I'm still trying to figure out fonts/colors etc. (slapping forehead - doh!
Sure! I try not to delete any backgrounds we've used on our threads. :)
Well, I was impressed that you were already able to change your background style! I can barely post a picture onto the existing format. But, it is totally fun and we WILL learn it!
(((hugs))) to Ms.Billie for giving us this "Mission Possible"!
Don't feel like you're alone - as hard as it was for me to learn, I know - I've been there - we've ALL been there - ask any one of the hostesses who post these tables like a piece of cake now!
