GREATEST AMERICAN on THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL
SUNDAY EVENING PROGRAM ON CABLE TV

Posted on 06/06/2005 7:22:41 AM PDT by Bringbackthedraft

Watched the Discovery Channel show on the Greatest American countdown? You get to vote who you feel is the greatest American. The votes were web paged at aol.com./greatestamerican. It only takes a few readings of the bio's to see where they are going. Matt Lauer was the host, need I say more?

definitely fishy. Actually, I had to put my cursor onto JFK in order to get Reagan's "Vote" to appear. When I clicked it, it thanked me for voting for Reagan, but I wonder if it truly registered. Not that it matters, we all know it's going to be a lefty lovefest...

I've wished for years that military bands would adopt the theme music from this show and play it regularly.

I notice that under "greatest accomplishments"...
oldest US President, founded "Reaganomics", was known as the "great communicator". Also listed his love of jelly beans. Wow, this is dumbed down even more than I could realize.

The first thing I would do would be to fool Gilligan into sailing away on a raft. Next I would somehow do the same with the skipper, the Howells, and the professor. Next, well you can probably guess.

Sadly, as you got older, Mrs. Howell started looking better, right? lol

Mrs. Howell was probably a babe in her day. Unfortunately her day had passed around forty years before she appeared on GI.

BTW, I don't think any list of greatest Americans should include entertainers or sports figures unless they have contributed greatly in other ways. An example of one who did would be Reagan.

I've seen and heard of her anti-gun stance, and if you go to...

http://newsmeat.com/billionaire_political_donations/Oprah_Winfrey.php

You'll see who she donated to earlier, before she realized that it wasn't smart to let her political views be so readily discerned.

I don't remember Susan Engeleiter. But I'm at least encouraged to see the "R" by her name.

Notice that fully 94% went to demonrats, while only one donation, the 6%, went to a woman with an "R" by her name. I would bet that the "R" in this case, since it's a Northern (WI)"republican", stands for RINO.

The choices listed on the insipid radio ad for the thing were: George Washington, Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Oprah.

To put these people in the same SENTENCE with George Washington, the FATHER of our country, is LUDICROUS and un-American.

Just because a person is a Democrat, that doesn't mean they are left wing.

Additionally, I have several STRONG conservative friends in Wisconsin that would object to you equating "Wisconsin Republican" to "RINO".
