Steve was a good man and loved by a lot of people. My husband and he worked together at Benning a few years back. When we got stationed here at Bragg, they became even closer friends; his wife has become one of my best friends. Our children often played together. Steve had character beyond reproach and would do anything for his family and friends. Please keep his wife and two sons in your prayers and thoughts. He died doing what he wanted to do, but he will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathy to you and this heroes family. Please let Sgt. Langmack's family know that FreeRepublic appreciates his service, and mourns his passing. Thank God for men like him.
Please FReepmail me if his family needs any assistance. I'll do what I can, and I'm sure I can find many others who will, as well.

Judging from his bio, we were in Afghanistan at the same time, although our paths never crossed (2/7 had their own area, pretty much south and east of Kandahar in the homeland of the TB. It got pretty sporty towards the end of their tour).
My heart goes out to his wife and kids. Kids that age will one day appreciate that their Dad was a hero. But that day is far in the future, right now they are in a nightmare from which there is no waking.
"He has died for those oppressed."
Those of you who pray regularly for people like STeve and his family, thanks. People who don't pray regularly, well, do what suits you, which is what he fought for. I bet, though, that the Big Guy would be particularly pleased to hear from you right now.

John 1:1-3
"Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.
2. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you maybe also."

I don't remember the names anymore, so I pray for our military and their families et al.
Every Wednesday night at prayer meeting, the first on my submitted list is ..
America, President Bush, our leaders and our military.
I know of no Christian that doesn't appreciate the sacrifice(s) our warriors and their families make, and the watch-care of our God for the grieving loved ones.
Heavenly Father, we unite and agree in prayer for the Steve Langmack family. Comfort and guide them in this seemingly lonely hour.
In Jesus' name and for His sake, Amen.
