Did you hear some of the nonsense spewed by Barbara Boxer today. She was blabbing something about Bolton chasing after a woman and beating on her door in a Moscow hotel or something. The dems will stop at nothing! Nothing! My husband called and talked to someone in Boxer's office. He had it out with the guy who answered the phone. I apologize for California.
What's this about Voinovich entering into no-fly zone when Pres Clinton was in the air? And acting like an out-of-control loonie tune?
I saw some of Voinovich's nonsensical speech today. Is he having a breakdown or something? We tried to get through to his office but the lines were all busy. Keep up the pressure. Maybe we can push him right over the edge.
Actually, I agree with him. After watching him for a few minutes, I worried for his children and grandchildren, too. :-)
I fear for America with Mr. Voinovich as a senator in my country.
HH: We'll see. We'll see if there aren't others that go weak in the knees. That's what I'm afraid of, John. Now let's play George Voinovich on the floor of the Senate today for John Podhoretz.
Voinovich.mp3
HH: John Podhoretz, your reaction to that little bit of drama.
JP: Cuckoo. I hadn't heard that. I am beyond belief, except for this one thing that cannot be stated too many times. In 1995, George Voinovich, when he was governor of Ohio, he was at the Cleveland airport. The President of the United States was in Cleveland, so there was a no-fly zone declared for the airport. And he insisted that his pilot take off, his personal pilot take off, despite the fact that there was a no-fly zone declared. And he got on the phone with the air traffic controller and said, what are you going to do? Shoot me down?
HH: I didn't know that story.
JP: As a result of that, in 1995, the Federal Aviation Administration fined George Voinovich $20,000 dollars for interfering with the good agency and, you know, the good order of the American aviation system. And for that man to claim that any other human being does not have the temperament to serve in a senior job, when he behaved that way...
HH: I didn't know that. We're out of time. It's the Hugh Hewitt Show.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05147/511359.stm - Dems procedurally blocking an up or down vote on Bolton over secret docs the Bush administration won't release.
I fear for this country mainly because there are RINOS don't have the courage to admit that there's nothing left to talk about with most Democrats.
I like the essay, but if you're going to send it out to more people, use a spellchecker on it first. I spotted at least fifteen typos in it. People take letters and essays less seriously when they're riddled with misspellings.
I'll do my part: I'm calling both my Senatidiots today and lambasting them at both their home and DC offices. Also, we are moving to squash DeWhine's son's race as a congresscritter.
Nicely done, Jeff!
Which reminds me, I didn't seen much of capo de capos Hillary on the screen during this debacle. Hmmmmmmmm.
Leni
I'm unwilling to "risk" it too, that's why we should just pull out of this communist NGO and quit funding it. Then they can just change the name to the Third World Dicators Blood and Fun Club.
I am afraid, very afraid for my grandchildren today in our school systems. One, age 9 is in private Christian school in Raleigh, North Carolina, the other is 3 1/2 years and in montessouri daycare, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Two great-grands are the children of one of my two grown grandchildren, both of whom live in Houston. Two great-grand children 11 and 13, that are in public school in Houston; and their dad is a computer tech (self employed).
The other grown grandchild is a teacher of kindergarden, and has the children/students of NASA parents: Married to a professor at Alvin Community College. No children yet.
Nearly 'all issues' today are a threat to everything that made America 'great'. All of which are impacting the young of our nation daily. Living in west Texas means not having the opportunity to be involved with their daily lives. This world is a dangerous place and our very way of life is in peril. Already changed in so many areas.
The judges, the senators, etc., have become enemies of the many and advocates for the small minority. Tyranny. Power is ugly in the leaders from the liberal side of the aisle. Lieing, cheating, stealing, blackmailing, falsely representing, ... power ... power ... power... and getting away with it. God help us.
Voinovich is an embarassment, an outright joke. He makes me embarassed that I am a Republican. We are fighting a war on terror and he's whimpering over the Bolton nomination? Pathetic. democrats must be laughing in the senate offices at his pathtic display.
Bttt.
One of Rush's callers pegged Georgy girl perfectly. One could understand him crying on the Senate floor about 9/11 victims or fallen military personnel in Iraq or Afghanistan, but cry about the Bolton nomination? Good grief!
I fear for my children and future grandchildren too. That is why I support Bolton's nomination and, in fact, the eventual removal of the U.N. from U.S. soil, the withdrawal of the U.S. from the U.N., and hopefully the complete and total elimination of the U.N altogether.
A Senator crying on the floor of the senate over an Appointment..... WUSSY!!!!! You know him and McGreevy have have something other than politics in common.
Nicely done!
The U.N. is a huge joke. The liberals want U.S. representatives at the U.N. who will follow the siren song of business as usual. . where corrupt officials get rich on the backs of the poor and on Uncle Sucker's dollars. It has always been, "Ante up, Uncle Sucker, and we will smash you in the chin even harder!" The cold, hard, contemptuous tone those third world U.N. reps take toward the U.S. leaves me amazed at their gall.
Democracts, as all liberals, are emotionally driven, not fact driven. Bunch of blubbering crybabies.
I doubt that George Washington would have thought much of Voinovich's performance. You can bet the Red Chinese were pleasantly surprised at this display of unmanliness.
