McCain can't win the GOP nomination unless the primary season is frontloaded with open primaries where Rats sabotage us.

It's no secret that he's alienated conservatives, and they're the ones who decide who the nominee is. If we had no primaries, he might be electable because the "maverick" image does appeal to the clueless.

I apologize if this has already been remarked upon, but:

US Intel: Plutonium Sent By North Korea This Year Makes Iran Direct [Nuclear] Threat
Geostrategy Direct ^ | May 31, 2005 Issue | Bill Gertz

US Intelligence officials have told President Bush news that has left him stunned:

Iran has completed all elements required for an atomic bomb.

The intelligence information asserted that North Korea this year transferred components to Iran to assemble a plutonium based nuclear warhead.

The components were believed to have originated in Pakistan.

I'll be interested in seeing how this effects the filibustering, the Dems argument for filibstering him, the case for "US out of the UN", and what the UN's reponse to this will be...

I have to question where you get these numbers from.

If you're really interested in how many people register by party, go to the Pew Research Center site. They poll fairly frequently, and while the numbers do vary, they're always close to what I posted.
The Clinton years were the only ones where Dems had a noticeable advantage over the GOP, and even then, they never got over 34% or so.
Most years, the parties are almost tied.

Enter the Democrats....the true rulers of the Republic...
And on the payroll of the Trade Federation,I might add..This is where Bush strength will disappear...Our only other choice would be to submit our plea to the courts....

I've come to the conclusion that the WH might wanna leak out that W is considering doing a recess appointment over the 4th of July... The name Karl Rove comes to mind, though initially I thought that Rummy might be interested in a change of scenery.

The Courts take even longer to decide things than the Senate! Our people are dying, Senator...we must do something QUICKLY to stop the Democrats.

I agree with you, but you gotta admit- this sounds an awfully lot like some line in Star Wars: Clone Wars (or whatever that episode was called)...

Bush will do the recess appointment if that's what it takes. But an outright victory would be much more preferable.

Think about the names I selected. If the Democrats think Bolton is bad, imagine how they'd react to the thought of Rove or Rummy being sent to the UN. IMO, they'd almost race the GOP leadership to get Bolton confirmed.

I didn't understand that you were suggesting floating their names for the position.

They'd certainly prefer Bolton to either one of those two guys, although they'd fear Rumsfeld the most, I think.

My guess is that it probably won't be necessary and Bolton will be approved in the next two weeks.

While we're busy here eating our own over the McCain agreement, we should at least realize that the Democrats wouldn't have agreed to it if they thought their filibuster tactics were going to be a winning strategy.

Sure, but I can be a b!tch & at this point I want it to hurt. Mr. Rock, meet Mr. Hardplace. I want to see gnashing of the teeth by their faithful as they fold up their tents. I wanna see the MSM go off the deep end again, though that would just be icing on the cake.

It could be someone unknown to the general population, but well known within party circles. All that would matter would be that they'd believe the rumor & throw an absolute fit about it. GOP could ask them where they got the idea that it was ever going to be anyone but Bolton.

Throw in a rumor about Jeb Bush being considered as a POTUS nominee and an absolute meltdown is guaranteed!

The press doesn't matter. Accolades don't matter. Reelection doesn't matter. What matters is doing what needs to be done to defend and preserve this great country when we have the means to do so. The Republicans just let the greatest enemy this nation has ever known, the Democrats, score a victory. This victory allows them to continue their destruction of of our country using the courts. Many Republicans especially the old elite leadership hold us in contempt and ridicule what we hold dear every chance they get especially behind closed doors. On talk shows they laugh at us because they know we are powerless and apparently have no self respect. Just like beaten dogs we come back to them no matter how bad the beating. We are useful to keep them in power nothing more. If we withdraw our support they will fall but it will teach them a lesson, for a while. And maybe the fear will smack them into line.

I am so angry I could spit nails, and not finishing nails either, I'm talking about landscaping timber nails here. If the Republicans manage get this done, then roll the RATs and drive a stake through their rotten hearts, this country will explode with support for them in numbers they cannot currently imagine. And the electorate will be with them for generations. But they have to be worthy, they have to the courage to do so without thought about the electorate, without babysitting. I have stuck with them for decades and decades, from now on they will have to earn my support.

I think he understands. What he and I don't understand is why there isn't any party discipline to keep the "10" in line. The final question is how to best attract the attention of the party leaders so they straighten this mess out. Walking away for a while until improvements are made seems appropriate. One other thing:

How did Specter win his primary fight? Did he dazzle the electorate with his handling of his conservative opponent or or did he get party heavyweights to beg the electorate to support him? Think Specter would have won without Bush or Santorum? Did Specter betray all of them as soon as he had the chance?

Doing the right thing is what matters.

Screwing your base wins nothing in the end.

I'm outrages and mad and don't care if the MSM likes it or not.
