For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday...
Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.
Canteen Backyard Cookout!!
Okay, who's cooking??
|
|
Tomkow? Old Sarge? Tonkin? HiJinx? Auntie Fawnn? Ma??????
Long weekends sometimes are family backyard cookouts. While this weekend is Memorial Weekend, which we in the Canteen take seriously, a little kickoff fun is planned. We thank our Troops for their service to our nation.
We have some beer!
Some eats!
Some fishing....
Some lounging around...
You a Redneck?? You might be a Redneck if your pickup looks like this!
Some more beer!
Somemore lounging around...
Tomkow has to show off at every Canteen party! Soooo, what's your idea of a Backyard Cook Out?

Cool! We are done in two weeks even tho we had a graduation ceremony and party tonight. ( I am a tough teacher! Hehee!) We still have some loose ends to tie up and then we are done to do... well to do what we do all year long..PLAY!!! (But now it is unofficial play!-I am so bad!) Happy Summer to you Shag man! Why do I feel like he is singing about me here? Hehe!
They wouldn't listen to the fact that I was a genius

Jake tastes best when fried up in banana oil. Or lacking that three large ripe bananas that have been liquified in the blender with about a Tblspn+ of vegetable oil drizzeled into the blender slowly to create an emulsion. Heat in a separate pan and pour over the cooked meat.

Given the topic tonight, does anyone have a favorite cookout food? One that I could bring to a weekend bbq in July? We usually bring beer - but this year I thought I might get creative and bring something everyone remarks about. I'm a pretty good cook -IF- I have a recipe to follow. I'm sure I'm asking the right group!
