Good morning all. Senate convenes at 9:30 am this morning, to vote on the nomination of Priscilla Owen. I've started the thread early, as I have to leave for a few hours, but also to give us a place to start commenting early on the events of yesterday....
You figure in the 13 who voted against cloture yesterday, add a few more moonbats and season with a few blue-state RINOs and you get 22 against.

Right now I am continuing to "trust and verify" what Graham has been saying. He believes that of the 8, seven will be confirmed. He's been in on the talks. Right now, he has not lost me completely (the same is not true of McCain) --- If he turns out to have been blowing smoke on this, it won't be the DUers who did the suicide thing - AFPhys may slink away for months and change screen name to AFPsycho...

Durbin's Republican opponent last time was a downstate Congressman named John Durkin, a solid conservative who got NO HELP from the NRC because they believed Durbin, despite his abortion extremist views (enthusiastic advocate of partial-birth abortion) to be unbeatble. Durkin ran so few commercials on TV, I never saw one.

Is it just me or is the pace of the Senate "Extraordinarily" slow? I know that is the way the Senate was originally setup but give me a break! Now, the vote for Owen is scheduled at 12:00PM Eastern.
