And you trust Graham, why?

You're the third person to interpret noting what has actually been said as opposed to mere theorizing what he might mean as "trust".

I'm reporting what he said.

I don't think you'll find where I said I trust him.

However, in these discussions I think it's helpful to know what the record is in order to make informed speculation of how things will unfold.

I think mccain will come out as 3rd party candidate. I don't see the RNC supporting him at all.
He will be the Ross Perot of '08 and the demos will reward him with Secretary of Something.

You think we've won?

Not yet. But the battle is still on. We don't win until the Senate restores the practice of voting on nominees, and where a minority can't stifle that process.

And if it looks like I'm going to lose, I'll come back to you, and we can discuss a compromise deal. =)

The same way they say the President was wrong about WMD's when all of them are on record saying there are WMD's just a few months earlier. Or just like when they say breaking a filibuster is denying Senators their "free speech" rights when they themselves broke filibusters when they were in control.

What they say now has zero bearing on what they do in the future.

Fact is, most of America says cut the deal and move on. Americans like compromise.

And you know this how? Have they taken a poll already on it? Something i haven't heard about? You may or may not be right about Frist but you are wrong about McCain. He is not a conservative, zealot or otherwise. This is the man that stuck by John Kerry and went against his fellow viet vets. That told me all I need to know about the guy. what he did during the war has long since passed and doesn't mean he is the same man today. I don't trust him.

Also I think we are not dead on this issue yet. However, I agree with you on the leadership part of Frist, he should have forced this issue long ago and not given the Dems a chance to circle the wagons. IMO

The President knew nothing of what was happeneing in the Senate this am...when he mentioned the judges.

Oh, come on. I guarantee you he knows far more than we do.

A fight like this is like an iceberg. 99% of what is happening is under the surface.

And politically, the President has submarines...if you know what I mean...

He knows damned well what is actually happening in the Senate.

The real question is, does he have a clue what this is doing to the Republican Party base. Read a certain way, his 'let's move along' comment could possibly suggest a certain amount of misunderstanding of that...

If in fact a nominee doesn't have majority support, then take the vote and be done with it! There is no excuse for blocking the vote.

I agree. All anyone is asking for is a simple Senate vote. If they can't do that then they aren't doing the job we all elected them for. It seems simple but McCain seems to have bartered the will of the American people like it was his(and 13 other tin gods) own toy.

Well, I see that there are some who woke up this morning as though they were given the date-rape drug last night, and have no real recollection of what took place.

I am going to be blunt, and I hope the moderators will understand.

For those of you kool-aid drinkers trying to but a brave face on this; If I didn't get RAPED last night by the Republican Senate, then why this morning does my ass hurt?!?

I don't care if Liberals are angry too; I don't care if we are getting the best 3 judges out of this deal; I don't care about anything accept that the Republican Senate has had months to give the President his rightful votes on his nominees, and this morning the Senate is patting itself on the back while Rome is burning.

Dammit, wake up.
