Teddy just said stampede! Was that a request? Cheney should walk in right now! That might kill Kennedy!

Happy to say I helped Jeff get into the Senate initially with my vote back in '96. :o)

I knew it---I knew that Section 2 Part B was going to bite Frist in the Butt---

That is what Kennedy just read---and he interpreted them like I did, that the RINOS agreed to take the nuke option off the table....

HEAVEN HELP US

Teddy just said that this agreement shows that the American people want us to get back to business.

I don't recall the American people getting any say...just 14 senators!!!

" McCain accomplished nothing " ... oh yes he did... not only did her tick off many Americans... but ? he basically ended his political career as a ( so called Republican ) until his term is over, then ? he'll change party affiliation, and join the Democrats and will be Hitlery's VP choice in 2008. Can someone come up with a picture comparison of John Benedict Arnold McCain and of Howard Meanie Deanie.... doesn't both of them look like brothers that were separated at birth ?

...he received nearly 70% of the vote last time that he ran and has consistently vowed that he is a "Goldwater Republican." He was also a Silver Star winner for his service to his country, as well as a POW who turned down an offer to return early in a show of unity to other POWs held at the infamous Hanoi Hilton (hardly Benedict Arnold). Incidentally, have you ever worn the uniform of the United States? If not, why so cavalier about those who have earned (by service and by the election of those constituents who believe in them) to be called statesmen?

Sessions is great... I am in Virginia and have mixed emotions. Senator Warner sided with McCain, but Senator Allen is making a strong case that all nominees deserve an up or down vote... did you hear him on Imus this morning? He was the first Republican I heard discounting the agreement. I hope he speaks on the floor this morning.

Allen for President 2008!!!

Yes, there's going to be some rewriting of speeches this morning after Frist and Sessions laid down the law. Can't wait to hear Hatch and McConnell slap down the Mods as well.

Reid even offered to give unanimous consent to take the vote on Owen, without having a cloture vote.

And it won't be on record of who voted yes or no???

Hmmmmmmm

Here's where the nine-judge figure comes from. Democrats killed three judges in the last session -- Estrada, Pickering and Kuhl -- through filibuster. Even though they have agreed to vote on Brown, Owen and Pryor, they haven't agreed on Saad, Myers and two others hanging fire. That leaves seven in the dust. In addition, Dem sources told the New York Times today that Republicans also have agreed to kill the Kavanagh and Haynes nominations, now before the Judiciary Committee. Hence, three judges survive -- a minimum of seven and maximum of nine go overboard.

Nice.

Does this mean I am going to have to apologize for all the things I said about Frist yesterday? I guess I owe him one from the sound of it. I hope he continues to stand his ground and take the RINOS and the Dems to task. Go Frist.

Just learn from the experience. Watch what is happeneing, and try to understand it.

Frist has always adhered to the principle of all nominees get a vote. He may not get it, but he is determined to press it to the point that all Senators express their sense, in votes, not in memoranda.
