We'll see when the first non-approved nominee comes up for debate. That will force the 7 traitor RINOs to put up or shut up. They will have to go on record voting against cloture, which means they will now have filibustered a judge and will have lost the ability to campaign saying that they never technically voted to filibuster. The most this does is to buy the Democrats a few weeks until they call a vote on one of the "unapproved" nominees. I think the RINOs were counting on Frist to not risk embarrassment by scheduling a vote he thinks he might lose. Frist needs to call that bluff.

Thanks. A voice of reason. I stated somewhere last night that we should all "slow down and take a deep breath."

We are (in places, by a few) in danger of sounding like the DU.

Rick Santorum stabbed us when he stumped for Specter. If Toomey had beaten him, Graham, DeWine and Collins would have never dreamed of sticking their heads up.

Okay---I have seen several posters point out what you did, and it is true that in order to vote down a cloture vote, one of the 7 Dem weasels would have to break the agreement, so I was too upset, But...

this is the way I took it from Graham's interview, that we are not to worry, because the 14 weasels have made an agreement, so it doesn't matter what the other 48 do, THEY have it handled...IOW, it SOUNDS (not a fact, I know) like they have assumed the power over what the senate does from now on, re: nominations....

I just got me mad, that these 14, who basically did a coup d'etat of the Senate leadership, by taking the whole thing out of Frist's hands and gave the power to themselves...

I will try to calm down, but the more OTHER rep senators, like Santorum, Hatch, Specter, that come out and ENDORSE this group, it just makes me mad all over again....

There are bad things and bad possiblities in this deal, but it is not a disaster (or at least it may not be).

LOL ... that's a pretty good summary of the situation.

Yes, pretty much Hannity spends most of his show telling us that important people are coming "right" up.

The smartest woman in the world is Condi Rice. Now if we are talking about the most conniving woman in the world, Hillary wins hands down.

Saad did not mess up,and if they dump him the GOP will hear from the Arab community big time. Also "Dirty Harry" had illegal unethical access to Saad's FBI files and then slammed him about things that may have been hearsay. I hope Saad will engage a really Zealous lawyer and sue him for millions of dollars. I cannot wait to see this happen especially to the discovery portion of this case.

The democrat position for 40 years: better to complain about a problem, keep it as a campaign issue than to eradicate it.

Most politicians do that. Toss the hot potato around. Don't make a decision, etc. Set up Bureaus that make regulations so the Senate doesn't have to make laws - then they can blame the bureaucrats. Great work if you can get it. It's pretty common group behavior too.

They will have to go on record voting against cloture, which means they will now have filibustered a judge and will have lost the ability to campaign saying that they never technically voted to filibuster

The agreement doesn't require the Republicans to vote against ANY cloture. The part about the 2 additional judges specifically says that nobody in the agreement is required to vote EITHER WAY on them. None of the republicans in the agreement are going to vote to support a filibuster on any of the nominees. The question to be answered is whether 5 of the 7 democrats will vote against cloture on Myers, not how the republicans vote.
