I got it from you moving from the filibuster point to the actual up or down vote point when you said:

81-19 has nothing to do with the reality of the final margin

At the moment, Byrd recalling Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and "The Pardoner's Tale" in particular.

Gawd, I'd pay good money for the privilege of stuffing a sock down the throat of that colossally boring, pontificating old, drooling fool.

Byrd is prone to do anything when on the Senate floor.

Poor old thang. I think he suffers from dementia. You'd think the dimocraps would try and keep him off the floor.

Where do 14 liberals in the senate get the power to throw 2 of the President's judicial nominees "overboard"?

Fron an angry, embittered Senator who still can't get over the fact that he was passed over by the voters for Bush a half-decade ago.

Be that as it may, I just don't see any justification for it.

See my post #1458. I could be reading it wrong, but that's the way it looks to me.

I think it is interesting that this gang of 7 thinks they have amended the Constitution to require that the President "consult" with the senate in deciding who he should nominate. The arrogance of this position is just breathtaking. Talk about a power grab. Oh, but if he does, Byrd promises his nominees will be treated more gently. How disgusting. I just can't stand this.

Arlen Specter is unhappy because he lost a lot of potential power with this deal.

Do you think this is a case of the hyenas snapping at the wounded buffalo, since Spector is sick and may not have the energy to fight it out?
