Don't be a CINO (Conservative in Name Only)
Don't listen to CINO's in politics,
the Main Stream CINO media,
and even here on Free Republic.

Remember all who told you not to worry about klintoon, hitlery and reno
after the 2000 election?

Remember all who said Ashcroft would prosecute them.

Remember Chinagate, Pardongate, Waco, Vince Foster, the Jewish town in NY etc., etc., etc. ?

Well reno ran against Jeb Bush and hitlery wants to beat Hanoi Kerry in 08

Are YOU willing to listen to the CINO's again?

You've missed EVERYTHING !

You may be an "ex-Dem", but since leaving that party, you haven't learned anything.

Frist speaking in the Senate now. He seems okay with the deal...........

What the hell else is he going to say? That it stinks because the Rino victory ties his hands and eliminates use of the "constitutional" option?

He has been betrayed by members of his own party and should think about resigning as Majority leader in favor of someone who would strip the Rino's of all their perks, including committee and subcommittee chairs.

There is no "loophole." This is a memorandum of understanding that is based on trust and good will, not a legally enforceable contract.

Collins, Chaffee and Snowe are hopeless, but surely the Republicans in Ohio, Arizona, Virginia and South Carolina can come up with conservative replacements for DeWine, McCain, Warner and Graham. I would be so ashamed if I were a Republican from their states.

"I'm still amazed we ever won the Revolutionary War."

Believe it or not, we wouldn't have except for the French who brought over a boat-load of cash to pay our disgruntled troops, troops that the Continental Congress had thumbed their noses at for several years, refusing to raise money to pay them. Hmmmm...Congress thumbing their noses at the "troops" now that sounds familiar. The troops of the Republican faithful got dissed tonight.

That gives Frist, Rove, and Bush exactly 12 hours to either swing 2 votes or surrender the agenda.

Votes will swing for different parts of his agenda but he must compromise to get them. There are not 50 Republican votes in the Senate that the President can count on but neither does he have to surrender the agenda. There must be retribution though.

I couldn't agree with you more.

No grapes on immigration, no grapes with the SC nominations.

We should have known.

But if we don't know now, we never will.

As someone said earlier, if we fall for this again, we are no smarter than Charlie Brown with Lucy.

The RNC could have acted like the DNC; Party line or no $$$$.

Constitution Party sounds good. I can't vote for these fakers. NOT ONE DIME.

Since the Dems have agreed not to vote for cloture for the three they said were MOST extreme.....I wonder who would fall in the 'exceptional case' category?

Take a look at the comments from Reid (posted in 1511) and tell me why we shouldn't be furious. In addition, the agreement suggests that President Bush consult with the Senate before bringing a nominee up for consideration. Then we have Lanny Davis saying this is a victory for the centrists in congress and Lindsay Graham boasting that the 14 moderates will come up with a solution to save social security.

Jeffrey Toobin on CNN now saying he's read various blogs and although the pubbies are beside themselves with anger, the dems are happier with the outcome as the GOP has agreed not to change the rules until 2007. I have a horrible taste in my mouth and will wait until Brit gives his assessment tomorrow. Tonight we must endurse liberal pundits telling us what a victory this is for the dems.

Text of my letter to Kenny Boy... Chairman@gop.com

Please explain to me why a deal that results in the statement from the "People for the American Way" clowns below and a paid TV spot by Harry Reid bashing the President is good for the Senate, the party or the country? Does any of this rhetoric sound like a fair compromise was reached or that the idiots on the hill got taken in again. What exactly did Republicans gain?

Please remove my name from mailing lists (not that I've contributed since the election given the squishiness that you've shown on any number of issues since) until you figure out how to control your own members of Congress. I am embarassed to be a Republican today.

Frist will have 50 votes if democrats backstab McCain and Graham and Cheney will break the tie.

On the surface it looks like the RINO usual suspects sold us out. But I think the Dims have really boxed themselves into a losing position.

According to the deal, GWB's most controversial nominees, Janice Rogers Brown, William Prior and Priscilla Owen will all get cloture votes supported by the 14 signatories. That ensures up or down votes on the floor where all three should be confirmed.

The Dims reserve the right to filibuster future nominees "in extreme circumstances". That's where the Dims have been snookered.

The rat bastards have already savaged Owen, Brown and Pryor as the most extremist, racist, out of the mainstream nominees imaginable. They may as well have accused all three as being the Antichrist.

By supporting cloture, the 14 have established a standard for the kind of nominees they will support for floor votes. From the conservative perspective that's great news because those three are exactly the kind of judges we want at the appellate and SCOTUS level. GWB will be free to nominate judges with similar backgrounds and views in the future, pointing to fact that the Senate had already confirmed judges the Dims characterized in the most vile and comptemptuous language possible.

The Dims will have a very difficult time in the future if they try to make a case that a future nominee is an "extreme circumstance" after supporting Owen, Pryor and Brown.

"3 judges will likely be confirmed; 1-2 judges will likely be voted down"

If two lose, Bush should send up Bork & Pryor in their place. Just keep on doing it until everyone gets the message. Tell Congress "you either vote them up or down, or I start making more recess appointments than you can count."

I can't believe this "slow-talking" MORON got elected to the U.S. Senate by the good people of SC. He must have really pulled a good sham on them. I hope he doesn't stand a chance of ever getting re-elected. SC is the last state in the union that I thought would elect a RINO. MORON Graham fooled 'em real good!

Scarbourogh saying that mccain just gave up the conservative vote and has a temporary victory.

Frist has a temporary loss, but has the votes of the conservative right.

I agree with that assessment.

"We have sent President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and the radical right of the Republican party an undeniable message....the abuse of power will not be tolerated."

That's right. We ended the Lucifer lefties filibuster, and we got our right to vote on judges back. It's a win/win for Republicans.

First, we got what we wanted. We are going to get our judges.

Second, they now have to prove a judge is even more "extreme" than the three we're going to get right now in order to try another filibuster, because they accepted these. If they can't "prove" they're more extreme, we can call them for reneging on the deal, and resort back to the Constitutional option anyway. That was part of the agreement.

We get what we want either way, and no fascist liberal can stop us this time. The message to Bush is -Atta boy! God bless America. The Democrats abuse of power WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
