Unless Bush wants to make recess appointments. That would be the thing to do, but they do not want to listen to the base. The GOP is stuck in Washington. I fthey think that this will win them votes they are out of their minds, they may have just lost the majority with this.
You must be the expert. I am guessing you thought Bush was a conservative too. LOL. I bet you voted for him expecting he would be different than how he campaigned. You amuse me.
We need to get McCain out of power no matter what. No more of this "but he's a Republican" business. He's not loyal, so we needn't be either.
***
Just never understand why he just doesn't switch parties. He's Democrat most of the time anyway.
Of course, I said the same about Zell Miller...in the opposite direction.
You don't know this president very well.
No executive will be blind sighted like this.
You don't know history very well either.
I don't care who you are, you don't make deals regarding the President's nominees without consulting or the White House.
Do you understand that the senators are only thinking about themselves at this point? Most of them will still be in office, or be easily re-elected, when Bush is gone in three and a half years. They are not concerned about what the president wants. I guarantee you they did NOT consult Bush. They consulted other members of their precious club. They are more concerned with their personal popularity than principle.
You wouldn't be President.
That is how Banana Republics are run.
That is what George Soros tried to do in 2004 and look where it got him.

If the Rats and RINOs worried about how "the base" was energized in November, just wait and see how THIS will bring true conservative voters to the polls like never before.
I have posted at least ten based on common sense and things that are logical. You have failed to show me one evidence on why you think that the White House can be blind-sighted over something like this. But I guess you don't have to explain yourselves if you are hanging from the trees.
I just have one thought about this imbroglio . . What would Ronald Reagan do? maybe it would be something like . .RINOS TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!
I'll no longer waste my time with you, yet I know you'll declare that as some sort of victory. So be it, as long as I'm rid of you.
She's (howlin's) got a beach house full of company, and can't participate here right now, (maybe later tonight) but she knows about the compromise and wonders if part of the agreement was that the democrats will submit a list of names they vent for POTUS's judicial nominees.
I didn't hear that part, if it's a part of this "deal."
You are forgetting the exception: EXCEPT IN EXTREME CASES. Name one of the filibustered judges they haven't labeled as extreme. Name one.
Judge Pickering on H&C says it's a win for the GOP and the two we lost may not be lost at all as they may indeed get an up or down vote. He said the dems knew they were in a bind and had little alternative. This is all too confusing but if I were to trust my instincts I don't see it as a win. Frist et. al. have been telling us for months that ALL NOMINEES DESERVE AN UP OR DOWN VOTE. Anything short of that is a no win, IMHO.
The minority appointees were the poison pills. Now, the Dems don't have to deal with them in the PR battle. They won. We had the upperhand and could have gone for the kill. We showed mercy in the fight and the Dems live to fight another day and to obstruct our agenda. The GOP should have taken this to the public and fought the battle for all the marbles there.
They blew the chance of a whole generation. This will mark the beginning of the end of the conservative momentum.
Such impenetrable logic. People like you are the best examples of why Darwin is wrong.
DU sounds a lot like here, with the exception of Pitt. Most are screaming mad, and feel they lost. This is a good sign!
LOL! We need Jim to lift the ban on swearing for this thread...lol... is that what you're saying?
