"mote" is a speck; used in the King James Version;
Matthew 7: (Sermon on the Mount)
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

"Dean: This is the last chance the Democrats have to say anything about policy in America."
It is good that he recognizes the truth of the dem policy. Failure after failure. No more, potatoE.

"...if Rush does not hammer him tomorrow I will be surprised."
Man, talk about your "target rich environment"! Rush could practically phone it in! Where to start?
Timmy struck blood with the The Deanster on fund raising (which, after all, is the primary objective of the chairman). Dean tried to obfuscate, but it remains clear that he just ain't cutting it.
I thought that that, combined with timmy bringing up the pew poll (unflatteringly comparing Deaniacs with "normal" democrats) was priceless!

It's also funny that neither Dean nor Russert suggested that to "fix" the so-called "problem" of having only one party in power, perhaps the party that isn't in power needs to simply win more elections.

Tim asked Dean if it is right for a physician to mock someone who is trying to over come a drug addiction
Dean is calling Rush a hypocrite and now quoting the bible
Says he will not be lectured by the republicans

"Rush Limbaugh has made a career of making fun of people like Mr Clinton, and those people that have their own problems and issues with morality should't be lecturing us on ours all day long" -- Dean MTP 5-22-05

In part but to unravel the welfare state would be a monumental task it is unraveling in its own way now. More and more the NHS have to use the private sector to get waiting lists down.
What the Conservatives propose is that people who can afford to pay something towards private medicine that if they pay part of their treatment that the government would pay something towards it thus taking pressure off the NHS and encouraging people to use the private sector. This of course has caused a row with Labour saying the Conservatives are showing they are the party of the elite as the only people benefiting from this would be the rich.
In a way this is true but it would also save the NHS money as people could take advantage of this that maybe would not be able to afford full price for an operation etc privately but if part funded they could.
Eventually the whole system will have to the revamped the same as the pension system will because like your social security it cannot continue as it currently does. The only reason is that it has continued as long as it is is that it probably pays less than any other state pension in so called prosperous Europe.

I thought I heard Dean say that Osama Bin Laden had no connection with 9/11 - obviously he was talking about Saddam, but I thought i heard the error. Anyone else catch that? I guess I'll have to see the transcript.
The socialist comments were good too. Of course, liberal democrats are socialists, in fact, President Bush's education Bill is a 'socialist' Bill and so is President Bush's drug benefit.
I don't think too many of us deserve to be condemning Liberal democrats for being 'socialist' when they are only a few degrees more 'socialist' then our current President.

Did Dean just basically say he is for State's Rights regarding Late Term Abortions ???
Now he says he doesn't know of any doctor that would perform a PBA unless the life of the mother was at risk

WTF is up with Dean... does he not know the difference between Sadaam and Osama, or does he think Osama was the President of Iraq. He's made the mistake twice in a row now.
Just typical Dean. His king-sized yap is running 30 yards ahead of his pea-sized brain.
What pisses me off is that not a word will be said about it, whereas if Bush has a slip it's the end of the Republic.
I'm screaming so many cusses this morning that my neighbors probably think they are hearing an episode of "Deadwood" from my living room.
P.S. Anybody else getting the feeling that Russert's approach toward Dean is one of "tone it down, your making it worse for us"? Reminds me of why I stopped watching all these leftist shills on Sundays, and watch only FOX. Plus it's easier on my blood pressure and my neighbor's ears as well.
