The girls were 17 year old High School students who were driven to a frat party that was 40 miles from home.

You might want to change the "of" to "on."

He didn't shoot any of them dead did he?
I don't understand what's the problem here. Don't the cops know who to arrest in a kidnapping?
I think that dad is going to get filthy, stinking rich over this one.

"Don't make me out like I'm a bad guy here," Lohnes said. "I wanted to know who was hosting the underage drinking party, because my daughters are underage. When I tried to find out who was hosting the party, that's when they surrounded me." Sounds like he pulled the gun in self defense to me.
Get a criminal AND civil good lawyer, and sue sue the pants off this town, the college, and the cops.

If I were surrounded by a frathouse full of intoxicated college boys, I think I'd consider MYSELF threatened. He was justified in pulling the gun, in my opinion.

He cared enough to drive there to get his daughters out of a bad situation. Give him a medal.

Please put me on the jury. Father has charges dropped and is awarded 1 case of 9mm sjhp. Frat boys charged with kidnapping children, false imprisonment and corrupting morals of minors.

I'd be willing to bet a substantial amount of money that they didn't look, or act, 17. I'm guessing that these young ladies have been out of control for a while, and that nearly anybody in whatever town they came from would be _more_ than happy to tell us all about it.

Bureaucratic incompetence.

His daughters had called him earlier Thursday night, saying they wanted to come home, Lohnes said. They had gotten a ride to a party, but had no ride back, he said.
"Don't make me out like I'm a bad guy here," Lohnes said. "I wanted to know who was hosting the underage drinking party, because my daughters are underage. When I tried to find out who was hosting the party, that's when they surrounded me."
The twin high school students left their Manchester home on May 17, said Deputy Chief Rene Kelley, adding their disappearance was reported to Manchester police. The girls were reported missing. The police didn't do anything about that. The dad gets them back because none of the drunken students will give them a ride home and dad is the bad guy. If he gets charged I think setting up a defense fund is in order.

Too bad the frat party wasn't in the next state across state line. Had it been then whoever drove the girls to the party could have been charged in federal court under the Mann Act - Transporting a Minor across state lines fro immoral purposes (if it is even still on the books.)

Frat parties offer both!

If I was surrounded by guys that looked like this I think I would pull a gun too.

So let me see if I understand this correctly. His twin daughters who were underage and were at a
drinking party, where the hosts were breaking the law by giving alcohol to minors, and to his daughters specifically; the father tries to pick his daughters up at THEIR request, tries to find out what is going on and feels threatened by a gang of drunken frat brats trying to start some sh*t, he pulls a gun, which he has a permit for, and tells them to back off. He gets in the car with his daughters and leaves WITHOUT incident, and HE is the one arrested AND has his property confiscated because, conveniently, the cops are not able to find out if he has a permit??
What I want to know is; how many of the little drunken hooligans were arrested for underage drinking and giving alcohol to minors? How about for ganging up on the dad in a threatening way?
I know. Dad probably drove an SUV, and everybody knows that when an SUV teams up with a gun, no good can come of it. < /sarcasm >
