I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

I found the latter to be more harrowing.

Just a brat/slimy defense contractor so I guess that makes me a chicken hawk but at least I'm not a REMF or an arm-chair General.

It is not from DU, I do not post or even lurk there. If I wanted to vomit, I'd put my own finger down my throat. It's easier than reading the inane drivlings of people who actually believe they can create their communist utopia right here in my contry. I have been looking for the words to express the feeling that came over me the 2 or 3 times I went there, usually through links on FR. Thank you for describing my sentiment.

I'd puff up and start wheezing, precursor to anaphylactic shock. A shot of epinephrine would burn it off with the side effects of shakes and high rev hart rate. Anyways, I went on a therapy of increased bee venom injections and built up a tolerance such that I just get a dollar size welt. On the other side, I've developed a allergy to beer, 12 or 16 pints also ends up giving me the shakes. Oddly, MSM news does the same thing. Must be psychosomatic.

I was in a operation called "Thermal Gale". When I pointed out to a staff officer that in simple words it meant a lot of hot air I was told to keep it to myself. I think this incident, and maybe another or so, kept me from the fast track of Sargent Major of the Army, which is why todays Army vehicles don't have cigarette lighters.
