The Washington Post's Dana Milbank once again confirmed the paper's liberal tilt in a story headlined, "On a Bicycle in Beltsville, Blissfully Unaware," which ran May 12, a day after Washington received a scare when a small aircraft entered the no-fly zone surrounding the city. Bush, it turns out, had been riding his bicycle in a nearby Maryland suburb at the time the White House issued a red alert. "He was out at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in Beltsville, riding his bicycle--at noon on a Wednesday--blissfully unaware," reported Milbank. "It was not the first time a crisis has focused uninvited attention on the Bush fitness routine." White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan noted that Bush had just returned from a four-day trip to Europe. Milbank's point, apparently, was that the President that morning should have anticipated that the misguided pilot of a small private plane that took off out of a small Pennsylvania airport was going to accidentally stray into Washington airspace.

It's Bush's fault.
Clinton, of course, was paying absolute attention to business, even when his britches were down around his ankles!
CNN and the rest of the Liberal crowd played this angle for all it was worth. Why wasn't he informed? What did he know and when did he know it? Doubtless it will show up on SNL one of these nights. Bush looking goofy, falling off a bike, etc. He won't be shown swearing at his Secret Service agent, however.
And it wasn't worth much. It made them sound even more stupid than usual.
I don't appreciate Milbank providing the location where the President bikes. It was not revealed in any of news accounts I read or heard.
You mean at that point he wasn't "blissfully unaware"? Or, according to the dem's that kind of "bliss full unawareness" is ok?/sarc
What this meaningless hubbub reaffirms is the sad truth that many lefties secretly yearn for an omnipresent, omniscient being, a father figure if you will, to watch over and guide the people. They want someone who will take notice of even a sparrow falling to the ground. And they look to the government, and more specifically, to the President, to take on that role. They'd prefer a King. Or some other being - that is, as long as that being can not be mistaken for God.
A private aircraft actually crashed into the whitehouse while Bill Clinton was president. The aircraft made a direct
hit. Not much was discussed at that time. Nobody ever went into the background of the man guiding his aircraft into his target. What does this Washington Post reporter say Clinton was doing at the time?
Wizzard of Oz, more like . . .
I don't know what the Washinton Post said about that incident, but many in the intelligence community said it was James Woolsey trying to get an appointment to see Clinton.
