CNN's Kelly Arena reports that one man is being held by Maryland State Police at an airport in Frederick, MD. The police are waiting for federal authorities to arrive on the scene.

The man is said to be the pilot of the small aircraft that triggered an evacuation of government buildings in downtown Washington when he reportedly violated restricted airspace.

Frederick, MD. is located about an hour northwest of Washington, D.C. along the I-270 corridor.

Wow. Ol' Ms. Wilbanks cleaned up good between that mug shot and the pics we saw on the news, but you can't hide those bug eyes!

5'10", huh? She's a tall nutburger.

Does anybody know if there are windows on this plane that can be opened in flight?

Yes. During my first few hours of training my instructor would hand-surf. Sure gave my legs a workout...

He's at the Frederick Airport? Home base of AOPA. At least the legal office is right there.

If he is not one of the bad guys, he's gawdawful stupid. There are all sorts of products, including one you can DL onto your cellphone that will give you real-time locations of temporary TFRs, and he better have been unconscious to go flying over the most visible of prohibited areas.

And then have the bill for the expended munitions sent to your estate.

I agree and don't use the cheap munitions either.

You know, in relation to young ms. Wilbanks, maybe her turning roadrunner was the best thing ever to happen to her fiance...

Better she does it before the marriage, than after..

Well, I think a nuke would bring a 150 well over its gross weight, but bio and chem weapons are light. A 150 is really little, light and slow.

Having owned a Cessna 152. My opinion is that it can carry about 200 lbs beyond the pilot and fuel weight. I can carry a much heavier payload on my motorcycle.

Why don't they ban auto's in DC? They seem to be the terrorists weapon of choice.

Exactly. Maybe it's time to post John Deakin's excellent AVweb column on that very subject (the GA aircraft being a terrible battering ram) again.

Never plan on taking a lot of luggage with 3 people in a 150.

Sound advice, but I would add, "Never plan on taking more than 1 person on a 150."

Moammar Kadaffi style hair -

Dark, curl, long over collar in back

A Flight Instructor was in the Cessna and arrested also?

The "paper clip" move and reckless wilful proximity to the WH will not go over well -

Very true. I always liked the addage "You don't fly in a 150. You wear a 150."

LOL. One cool thing about it though is that you can reach both doors at the same time. My instructor flew the plane for ten minutes once just by opening & closing the doors.

Phoenix leaves with the F-14

There is no good way to shoot down a plane over a populated area.

"Is anyone else annoyed that the press keeps pointing out how small it is, with the unspoken assumption that it could do little damage?"

Well, look how little damage the microscopic plane that insane Florida kid rammed into the side of a building caused.

Yep, that concrete doesn't even have a scratch on it.
