Time to prosecute the Free Republic vandal outright. (Vanity)

There is an internet vandal who defaces Free Republic with very gross pictures (homosexual sex and stuff from rotton.com) as well as posting "ALL YOU F***** N*****S & JEWS SHOULD BE LYNCHED".
He pings a variety of people to his post, ensuring that the trash is still in their My Posts lists.
To me, this isn't the milder form of harassment that Eschoir engaged in so many years ago. The very worst he would do is ask if you ever committed sodomy, and he once used the screen name "Paula Jones Tw*t". This is mild.
What this sick piece of work is doing is much more egregious. I believe it crosses the line into criminal defacement and restraint of trade. Are there any Free Republic lawyers (especially prosecutors) who can address this issue, and are there any private detectives with internet savvy that will help track the identity of this person down?

....sure thought I was going to. Thank God bye the third thread I opened I saw the profanity at the top as I was scrolling down and stopped. For sure I would have gotten sick if I saw it again.
....I'm still trying to erase the evil pictures from my mind!!!

There are myriad criminal and civil statutes that apply to one or more of this cretin's acts.
Are there? (no flame just asking) Where would he/she/it be prosecuted? Where they sent it from, where the servers are, federal or state laws?

Like I said the first thing a judge is going to do is quiz FR about how it vets and controls its registrants, and then when he finds out it's much less than a LOT of other internet bulletin boards he's going to ask why you aren't doing much of that instead of bringing lawsuit.s

Has Jim Robinson given us any of his thoughts on this? I'm just wondering. I'm thinking that he may be too busy coding in to the website the a 30-90 day ban on posting pics for newbies and/or a posting to a thread limit for newbies. If not coupling that plus building a IP address database for all users and putting in logic for restrictions and/or temporary bannings for posters who could be deemed as suspicious. I'd probably start exploring the possibility of having offsite Moderators (if that is not already being done) as I believe FR is moderated "on site" in the stately FR fortress in Fresno. Then that's more coding for the login screens, encryption of the passwords and user names for the offsite mods, as well as coding in the logic and GUI so that the offsite Mods could actually moderate.
I'd even start thinking about putting a post/feature/priviledge limit on non-contributors, that might cut out alot of the riff raff...plus then (I think) Jim would at least have a name and credit card number or access to a name credit card number for sleeper trolls.
At least that's what I would be doing.

Only if you viewed the pics or had the thread open with the pic on them before being deleted.

"perhaps LONG probationary periods before posting pics is allowed, etc" I think that is the way to go. Those pictures really ticked me off.

This kind of post is kind of like graffiti. If nobody ever sees it, the idiot who does it will figure out (eventually) that he is wasting his time. This is why responsible building owners clean graffiti of buildings as soon as it appears. Every minute it is up is a reward to the vandal.
A mechanism needs to be put in place to slap this sort of thing down, and fast. I like the idea of a temporary zot-lite, to be exercised by senior posters, subject to AM review.

We have more persons, than the required number, for a jury, and witnesses galore! I will report the filth, I witnessed.
Is it illegal to dress someone in tar and feathers? How about fitting with a noose?
