The Vote is under way!
Thanks...good to know. I'm sure I'll be quoting you often tomorrow to my liberal colleagues
Yup, that's been around since the 60s, founded by the late rocker Screaming Lord Sutch who also had a pirate radio station at one time.
Geez, they must be more left-wing than Canada then...up here it has been calculated that such a strategy would get the Conservatives a minority government (although not over the top)...
Sittingbourne & Sheppey was probably stolen by postal ballots.
Kilroy Silk can join the Raving loony if he wants a vote base!
All in all, the Tories really don't have very much to complain about so far, with the exception of losing Taunton. Within an hour or two of the results starting to come in, they already outdid themselves from last time (though beating a 1 seat gain is hardly difficult), and are on track to make some key in-roads.
And for anyone interested, we got a 3%+ swing in Margaret Thatcher's old seat of Finchley but lost by 1.7%. Should be a good race there next go-around.
It is. Darn if they did. :(
Canada has some religious conservative areas, like Alberta. Britain's very secular.
We have our share as well
Phooey. :(
Getting above that 200-member benchmark is important psychologically, and really illustrates a return to relevance for them. IMHO.
Chances are Blair will soon be out as PM if projections of Labor seats hold true.
Yes, his party and Blair himself knew the risks. The seats falling to the Tories are not nearly as telling as the seats falling to the LibDems. Those seats, imo, can be directly traced to Blair's support for the war. Had he not supported the war it is unlikely Labor would have seen those seats defect to the LD.
I'm afraid I'm far from an authority. Ask Snugs or MadIvan, they know these things.
Barring a late collapse, I think they should be able to get there.
Welsh National Party can't spell it Cymru I think Lib dems and labour not that many Conservatives though we did win a seat earlier this evening.
I've got to say goodnight ...(I hope you get some sleep, too).
Talk to you tomorrow...
I'm hopeful of 220, but that might take a late surge.
Do we have actual vote totals per party? I'm especially interested in the Greens, UKIP & BNP totals; they'll tell how much discontent there is with the "mainstream" political parties in the UK.
