PCs seized in missing Ga. bride-to-be case

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) - Investigators have taken several computers from the home of a missing bride-to-be to examine e-mails for clues to her disappearance, police said Friday.

Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, was reported missing Tuesday night by her fiance, John Mason, who said she did not come home after her nightly jog in this Atlanta suburb. He said she left with only her radio and the clothes she had on.

Police found Wilbanks' keys, cash, credit cards and identification in the home she shared with Mason.

Chief Randy Belcher said investigators took three computers from the home and were reviewing e-mails.

Officers who searched Wilbanks' neighborhood were also testing several sweat shirts for any connection to the case, though the police chief seemed doubtful. "We've picked up pieces of clothing all over," he said. Authorities said they considered the case a criminal investigation, but police gave mixed signals about whether they believe Wilbanks may have gotten cold feet.

Maj. Don Woodruff said authorities did not believe Wilbanks was a runaway bride. But under questioning from reporters, Belcher later said: "It's a very real possibility she did get cold feet. I mean, how many husbands have gone out for a pack of cigarettes and not come back?"

Belcher said Mason had told authorities he would decide Friday whether to take a polygraph test.

At one time there were cougars in Georgia and there may be now. One of them might have nailed her.

If one of them "nailed her", don't you think he would have left a few "leftovers"?

What do you make of the treatment of Richard Jewell during the Olympic's bombing investigation?

The "framing" going on is by over-zealous investigators who become convinced that they know who did it and who take every step to prove their presumption correct. They become blind to contrary evidence and they exert every pressure on their suspect in order to incriminate them.

I doubt that there have been many framings where the framers thought that the suspect was innocent. The motive is to convict the "guilty" despite a lack of sufficient evidence. For the innocent suspect the effect is the same whether the investigators believed them guilty or not.

I am a little intrigued because of her age. Thirty-two is a little unusual for a first marriage. Has she been married before? Does anyone know how long they have gone together and if it has been for a long time could it have been a "it's now or never" type ultimatum issued by someone?

The length of their engagement was discussed earlier in this thread, and on Fox last night.

As I recall, they have known each other for about 18 months, got engaged last August.

"Women are viewed as disposable objects."

Thanks again, NOW Hags! Thanks ERA! Yep. We're EQUAL now. No need for our menfolk to cherish and protect us, since we've emasculated them to the point that nearly all of them WANT to strangle us during the course of a day. *Rolleyes*

Actually 32 is young! I didn't get married until I was 38! Now days, young women are independent and career oriented. It could have also been Jennifer just hadn't found the right man.
P.S. I do not think the boyfriend had anything to do with this! My gut tells me she was snatched off the street. I pray for her!

Nah, the only males who want to strangle their girlfriends or wifes are the little boys who suffer from arrested emotional developement. The little boys who don't want to be disturbed during Nintendo play time.

One more thing. Did slain Ron Goldman and Connor Peterson "emasculate" OJ Simpson and Scott Peterson?

Dead victims tell no tales.

Good point. There are an awful lot of men out there these days that are "stuck" at a certain point of development.

I'm still annoyed that those "womyn" feel they speak for the rest of us, though. They certainly don't speak for me, and I hardly have had a "traditional" life. I had a quickie marriage as a teen, then had an awesome military career until I retired in my mid-thirties (I joined at 17) and have been doing the Wife & Mother thing for the past decade. Now that my 18 year old is starting college, it's on to something else, as DH & I are starting our own business.

Funny. I don't remember ONCE asking Gloria Steinem or Marlo Thomas or Bella Abzug permission to make the choices I've made; I just went out and lived my life. *Scratches Head*

You can have it all; you just can't have it all at once! ;)

And again, if the fiance did this, he needs to fry. With the media spotlight being as it is, I doubt he's got much wiggle room if guilty. Women rarely disappear on purpose days before their weddings.
