TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Supreme Court says it won't consider an appeal from conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh. Today's four-to-three order didn't explain the court's reasoning.
Limbaugh's attorney argues that an appeals court misconstrued Florida law when it ruled prosecutors could review the records.
Prosecutors seized Limbaugh's medical records in 2003 for an investigation into whether he illegally purchased prescription painkillers.
Limbaugh hasn't been charged with any crime. He lost at the appellate court level and wanted the Florida Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that would open his medical records and possibly allow prosecutors to build a case against him.
Limbaugh has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation and argues that the case threatens the privacy rights of all Floridians.
Buddy, if your idea of conservatism includes applauding the illegal intrusion by people in positions of political power into the affairs of private citizens, backed up by the very same partisan, activist court that only four years ago tried to overturn a presidential election, then you can drop this "we" crap. You're no conservative I care to know or identify with.
You keep saying Rush did something illegal.... well, put up or shut up, pal. Unless, like the Palm Beach prosecutor, you're just putting odds on the result of the fishing expedition you have no problem with at all.

The thing is, seems no one else is held to the same standard as Rush in the whole state of Florida.
Rush is the only one I've heard of where they allowed this seizure of private records.
This is among the biggest cases of possible selective prosecution I've ever heard of.
Actually, he never was big on the War on (some) Drugs. A couple of comments about "pot smoking hippies" but definitely not a jackboot licker.

This, by "A CA Guy?"
In other news, the NHL agrees to hold the playoffs in Hades.
Exactly when in human history did "doctor shopping" become a crime?
Do you think this innovation in criminal law is a step forward for humankind?
Not a thing. The difference is that I am not arguing his case.
What you don't seem to realize is that the true duty of conservatives is to take down, bankrupt, and humiliate those involved in this illegal prosecution.
Time to move to another state Rush.
florida is a mini dictatorship -- it works like a well oiled machine in which all the critical parts know their functions. either jeb is impotent to change it or he's just another one of 'em (they've been in there as long as I can remember).
This is flat-out wrong. His hearing loss was not due to narcotics abuse. I have said before that I will readily admit that it was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard about Rush's hearing loss, but I waited for the facts to come out.
"What you don't seem to realize is that the true duty of conservatives is to take down, bankrupt, and humiliate those involved in this illegal prosecution."
What YOU don't seem to realize is that it is that a true conservative does not provide cover for law-breakers, no matter where on the political spectrum they may be.
A true conservative looks at the facts, and does not act like Democrats who ignored the evidence against Clinton, and instead acted to to take down, bankrupt, and humiliate those involved in his prosecution.
Methinks you doth protest too much.

Well, there was probable cause " put up " to issue the warrant, and after Black screwed up early in the case the DA had a day to legally go through the files...meaning...
The DA KNOWS what is in there, and Rush KNOWS that he knows what is in there.
Do you think that might have something to do with why Rush is so desperate to not only keep them sealed, but to keep the DA from EVER being able to use them as evidence... Hhmmmm??

Yes, and in this case, the facts are that NOBODY in Flori-duh, except for Rush Limbaugh, got treated this way. It's called "selective prosecution." And it is against the law.
Take down the whole crew: the judge that rubber stamped the warrant, the cops that executed it, and prosecutor that is running that mob.
Involvement in such a travesty shoudl mean to these people that they will go bankrupt, become unemployable, and be spat upon the rest of their lives. If it happens to even a few of the people involved, others will think twice - and exercise the discretion granted to them - next time.
That is why I hope Rush is as "innovative" as the prosecutor and ruins his stinking life, buys his house at auction, burns it down, and salts the earth on which it stood.
You such a brown-nose cheerleader for narcs. Yeah, that's "conservatism."
"You such a brown-nose cheerleader for narcs. Yeah, that's "conservatism."
You have something against " narcs " ?
Looks as if posting on this thread was the last thing you did last night and the first thing you did this morning.
I see your negative comments in every Rush thread I look at on FR.
I picture you hopping out of bed in the morning and rushing to the computer first thing to enter the word "Rush" on the FR search engine.
Wonder what possesses one to have such an obsession.
I think we'll get to find out.
Yes. They are all scum. Are you one?
