RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY - Michael Savage blasts Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh

RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY

RABID radio host Michael Savage is whining that he has been banned from the Fox News Channel after he dissed Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" — recently burned more bridges by calling O'Reilly a "Leper-Con who poses as a conservative" and Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show.

Savage claims that he's been bumped off four scheduled appearances on Fox News Channel in the wake of his caustic comments.

"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

Savage boasted that the supposed "ban" has not affected sales of his new book, "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder," which debuts at No. 6 on the New York Times best-seller list next week.

The gay-bashing broadcaster isn't the only publicity hound taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue, famed for firing off several press releases a day to media outlets, is ticked that O'Reilly once described him as a "witch-hunter" and Pope John Paul II as an "autocrat."

"My members are a little bit fed up with him," Donohue claims. "I guess he feels like if he is to the left of me, he'll appear more fair and balanced. We're on the same side philosophically on most issues. But I feel like, when someone crosses the line from criticism

Did Rush himself use the compression, or did affiliate stations use it on their own? There was a big dispute over this a few years back when media columnists started to wise up to the fact that something didn't sound quite right about what they were hearing on the air.

LOL. A classic Savage rant would be as follows . . .

"Is anyone listening to me? Do you care about [insert 'important issue' here] -- or are you walking around with your hat on sideways and your pants pulled down to your knees, more concerned about college basketball than [insert 'important issue' here]?"

No, he's not boring. I do have a hard time following him, though -- like his show is just a stream of consciousness instead of a radio show. LOL.

taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

O'Reilly has always been a question mark for me... some of his stuff I liked, but on many other, I haven't. But that is not the point... why is the KING of cable news?... what is it what makes him so special?... I don't see it. I would think that any aggressive (I wasn't sure of the word, but the synomimons are: bold, brassy, cheeky, cocky, come on, domineering, dynamic, energetic, enterprising, flip, forceful, fresh, go after, hard sell, imperious, masterful, militant, nervy, pushing, pushy, sassy, smart, smart ass, smart-alecky, strenuous, take-charge) like Michael Savage himself!... or El_Rushbo [smile], would do just as well or maybe better... Unluckily for me, the other day that I was listening to him, he was talking about that he knew a lot of listeners were mad at him for not supporting, or actually saying not so nice things about the Minute Man... and that turned me off and I switched the station.

But frankly, I like a lot of what this article mentions!... he is gutsy alright, and I actually think he should keep whining, because in a competitive market such as this, only the gutsy ones, get to the top.

I don't listen to MS either, anymore. He is sometimes right on the money, but why try to bring down other conservatives? And he is SO negative -- nothing is ever right, nothing is ever good enough, nothing is ever perfect. That is just curmudgeonry, imho.

Savage is absolutely right about O'Reilly and Hannity.

Rush on the other hand, has been opening his eyes lately and appears to be waking up.

"If the country is serious about [sexual abuse of children] as a national issue, we have to direct our resources to where the problem is worse," Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, an New York-based Catholic advocacy group, told the Register. "But instead what we get is a selective indignation that suggests there is an agenda here."

Donhue is attempting to deflect the problem in the Catholic system rather than address it. While the problem of sexual abuse against children is abhorant no matter where it takes place, it is especially heinous when it occurs under the care of the church. For not only are the children violated, but fundamentals of the moral authority and the safety of those who put their trust in the church as a sanctuary of God are undermined. Also remember, for all the claims that our schools are falling apart because of the removal of prayer, the Bible and the ten commandments, these acts happened in places where all three are mainstays.

If I am not mistaken, and I cannot find actual proof, orginally when the sexual abuse stories were coming forward more and more often, Donohue was almost claiming that such did not exist and those who were moving these stories were on a witch hunt for against the church.

Providing cover is as much something of hate as the actual act itself.

People like Donohue and his peers in other faiths should put plug in it when thier faiths are proven to be doing misdeeds. They should be the first people to own up and move for quick reform instead of trying to misguide guilt and blame.

His ratings aren't as good as he says they are. Ingraham, Levin, Hewitt and every other conservative commentator dwarfs him.

Arbitron is not owned by Savage. His rating are apparently real, as are his massive book sales, unless you are asserting that he bought all those copies too.

BTW, I love Levin, he is a master. Ingraham has become boring and rote, she needs to drop the stupid "clip of the day" and other repetitive crap. She is best when she ad libs.

Well, I disagree with you. Rush has far more listeners than Savage and besides that was not my point. Even if Savage were right (and I don't think he was), can't he find plents of RATS, liberals, and the MSM to go after rather than our own allies? What is his point in degarding other conservatives? To try to make himself look better?

Anyone who actually believes that Savage is a real conservative is suffering from a major lack of discernment.

The guy is a self-serving, NO-CLASS, LOW-CLASS PHONY of the first magnitude.

He's like Al Franken. He can only get noticed by bashing those that he and others are jealous of because they are at the top of the mountain.

He's been gradually escalating his attacks on Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly for one reason - he is frustrated because he hasn't been able to get them to pay attention to, and respond to him yet.

I think that if he keeps it up, it won't be long before he totally shoots himself in the foot and is forced off the air waves. I think some people have something on him that if they made it public, Savage would be gone TODAY.

I hope it happens. His erratic, high, low, back and forth emotional instability has prompted some to think that he is a manic depressive, bi-polar, or an out and out lunatic.

Whatever his problems are, he's a huge embarrassment to the conservative cause.

I wouldn't say he "blasts Rush Limbaugh", good for him that he didn't, too, or he'd have me to deal with. :{)

Are you kidding? He and his callers call him Hush Bimbo
